2nd Annual Independence Classical Finals for South Trinidad

Veteran classical maestro Boodram Holass and Queen Ramrajee Prabhu are among twelve contestants competing for a Grand Prize of $25,000 in the 2nd Annual Independence Classical Song Contest sponsored by NeeLeeJi Entertainment Ltd.

The following contestants have made it to the finals: Anjely Rajkumar, Manmohan Gosyne, Ramesh Basdeo, Boodram Holass, Victoria Amrita Maharaj, Shivan Sukhu, Vishal Vishnu Surujdeo, Madain Ramdass, Ormarnath Brigdelal, Sunil Kissoon, Ramrajie Prabhu and defending champion Devashish Ramdath.

The grand cultural event will be held on Saturday August 26, 2023, at Whiskey Business Restaurant & Lounge, Tulsa Trace Extension, Penal starting 7:30 p.m.

Each contestant will be performing three songs to compete for a Grand Prize of $25,000 with $5,000 for best drummer, $3,000 for best dhantalist.

Supporting artistes include pannist Sunanda Mohip, Vijai Ramkissoon and Qualitech Roaring Riddim Section.

Surujdeo Mangaroo, Executive Producer, said that the competition provides an opportunity for the sons and daughters to display their artistic talents in classical singing. “Happy with the tremendous response we received last year, NeeLeeJi is proud to sponsor the competition this year,” said Mangaroo.
