In his column A Black Race Position, Selwyn Cudjoe wrote that Prof. Brian Copeland, Vice Chancellor of the University of the West Indies has a “vision if our university is peopled primarily by one section of our society.” Cudjoe himself said that “no member of a multiracial society…and secure in the fact that 80% of its university body should consist of one race.” The “one race” or “one section” refers to Indians and it’s secure in the country.

In a Three-Tier Mentorship Programme for Energy Professional in August, 8th 2019, Prime Minister Dr. Keith Rowley said that “35 young people at the function…33 of them were Indo-Trinidadians.” He added that “recruitment is on the basis of education and entrepreneur, Afro- Trinidadians needed to do introspection.” And Eric Williams wanted a “meritocracy” in the country, as he proclaimed.

Selwyn Cudjoe responded that “race is a factor of life in T&T…It is legitimate that Afro-Trinidadians should expand their interests…Promoting the groups’ interest is not necessarily incompatible with promoting the national interest.” It is critical of “young black professionals once overlocked in the process.” (Sunday Express. 15/09/2019).

Hence, the PNM party is similar to the “national interest.” And the state. Clearly, he wants an adoption of a system of ethnic and race proportionate representation in the profession, and the university, and by extension, the country. It is similar to Prof. Courtney Bartholomew in Sunday Express (20th– 21st 2005).

Dr. Rajendra Ramlogan (Lifting the Black Ceiling or the Black Mirage. Guardian 11/01/2021) said that the “Black Intelligentsia led by its high priest, Professor Theodore Lewis, is engaged in an implacable campaign to destroy meritocracy in the education system.”

He further added: “Assuming that this current government being from the same political party as that of Dr. Eric Williams, is as strict adherents to the tenets of meritocracy, the dominant position of Blacks in leading evidence that while that Blacks may allegedly underperform at the primary and secondary levels, they excel at the executive level when entering the work place. Therefore, the attack by Afro-Trinbagonians on the primary and secondary school system, is baffling as data would show that the Blacks straddle the upper echelon of the corporate world.”

He elaborated that “The political party of the Blacks has been in power for 73 percent of the period of time from independence…The astronomical Gross Domestic Product (GDP) has delivered to the coffers of TT, almost 520 billion USA, in a country with an average population over the GDP period of around 1 million. Statistically, the Blacks have been in control of our Treasury with almost 380 billion USD during their political reign.”

While Eric Williams in 1962 wants the free secondary school system…as “a cradle for a “new nationalism” … a cradle of the “new society.” Like the 23 persons of African descent, Cudjoe recommended for an equitable distinction in secondary places, directed against Indians in the education system. He goes further.

“No other problem threatens the nation’s black and youths.” He recommend that “the government implement a mandatory “National Service Programme” between ages 18 to 23 and must attend…a forum in which people of various ethnic, religion and social interest can come together…young people from different backgrounds learn from each other as they work together.” So extreme, that “no young person should obtain employment without being done his/her national service.” (Sunday Express 1/1/2019).

This is a black totalitarian state and society comparable to North Korea. The black vision for the country.

Rev. Knotty Harris said that “we have to protect our country and democracy at all costs.” As the 1990 attempted coup. Prof. Copeland referred to USA in July, 6th, about bigotry, hatred and racism. In 1990, the Jamaat-al-Muslimeen wanted a black theocracy. In 1970, the Black Power, black army revolt and black youths dubbed “freedom fathers,” were all directed against the State and democracy. This is the legacy of Eric Williams and his “new nationalism” and a “new society” directed against Indians in 1956.
