Several Guyanese have proposed and offered to contribute to a scholarship at Swami School, SVN, in the name of the legendary Mohan Nandu. SVN is a leading secondary school on Cornelia Ida, the West Coast. Nandu, the Mukesh of Guyana, died last Thursday evening after a prolonged illness. He was left destitute after contributing six decades to Indian music. The state and the party he contributed to abandoned him. Swami Aksharananda, with whom he did not have much involvement, came to his assistance.
