Dear Editor,
In the atmosphere of today’s world where the demand for apologies and reparations by those who did them wrong, the Blacks get their apologies from many White nations. But people are still awaiting for the reparations which are owed to Indians in the Caribbean – Trinidad/Guyana. The Indians were abused by the Whites and those who succeeded the Whites as rulers.
Bharat Indians are just seeking an apology from their White Colonists. But not from other invaders and conquers [ Arabs – Turks ] who destroyed their Vedic Cultures.
In Trinidad, Indians political demise is due to the wrong the Christian and the Muslims Indians have done to themselves AND RACE by their tradition since 1956 of supporting the black base party the People’s National Movement [PNM ] against the Indian Base Party Democratic Labor Party [ DLP ]. The result is that today Indians in Trinidad are discriminated by this PNM-Black Base party in all sectors and Institutions as in jobs, awards, housing, neighborhood resources — water/ electricity, and a pro Black Curriculum in schools because a percentage of the Indian Race just settled for two slices of BREAD.
Today in Trinidad, Indians are plagued with crimes from the PNM housing projects quarters and the masses of Indians do not know how the Indian Race fell politically into this predicament .
Had there been loyalty to their race by the Christians /Muslims Indians and not their daily bread as the blacks voters had done in 1956 the Indians in Trinidad would have had a political advantage today to control their own destiny. Unless, Indians do stand and vote as a race and voice their grievances as one unit the Indian Race must be prepared to clean toilets overseas. In conclusions , it’s time the Christians/Muslims Indians apologize for the wrongs they did politically to their to the Indian Race and become united.
