Today I will deal with two pillars of Hindu society that are under attack by our enemies. These are the Brahmins and Varna Ashram or Caste.
The enemies of India have always had resistance from the Brahmins, the natural leaders, and the protectors of our dharma. One of the earliest examples was the organized resistance and expulsion of the Greeks from northwest India
This resistance was inspired and led by Chanakya, a Brahmin scholar. After the defeat of the Greeks, Chanakya installed Chandragupta on the throne and successfully united the warring kingdoms into the first Indian Empire in 300 BC that went on to rule all of India for the next 185 years.
In Trinidad and Tobago, it was our Brahmins that provided leadership- Adrian Cola Rienzi, the Capildeos, Bhadase Sagan Maharaj, Doon Pandit, Pandit Teeluckdharry, Sat Maharaj. Our Nobel Laurate for literature, V. S. Naipaul was a nephew of the Capildeo and a fearless defender of Hindu dharma. Had it not been for Brahmins Hindu dharma would have gone down the pit. The birth of the Maha Sabha and the opening of the first six Hindu school was the death kneel of the Canadian Missionaries.
Our Varna Ashram (Caste System)
Attacks on Hindu society is directed at its varna ashram or what is corruptly called the caste system. Without attempting to understand the varna ashram and its rationale and evolution, the enemies of Hindu society have labeled it oppressive to present themselves as liberators.
In Goa India, the Brahmins refused to convert to Roman Catholicism. The establishment of the inquisition and condemnation of heretics to death did not get the Brahmin to surrender to Roman Catholicism. It was only members of the weaker sections of the society that succumbed to the pressures unleashed by the criminal missionaries.
The British also interpreted the varna ashram as hierarchical and exploitative and proceeded to criminalize the upper-caste, thus alienating the laboring class who were now given special privileges and special monetary grants from the colonial state.
Max Muller (1823-1900) was a German scholar who was versed in Sanskrit. He said that ‘it would be Indians’ fault if Christianity didn’t step in because the ancient religion of India was doomed at the time.”
It was recently revealed in a letter written by Max Muller to his wife that he was ‘especially employed to translate the Vedas in such a way that the Hindus lose faith in them.”
Mortimer Wheeler’s Aryan Invasion Theory (AIT) was propagated by Max Muller to propagate the falsehood that the Vedas were alien to India and imposed on the indigenous dark-skin people, thus giving rise to the Aryan-Dravidian divide.
Professor Romilla Thapar (1931- ) is a celebrated scholar internationally and the darling of the west for her role in propagating the AIT. Today the AIT is discredited but the missionaries and ‘scholars for hire’ still hang on to it for the pittance.
It is now accepted the all the people of India belong to a single gene pool and share a common culture for millenniums. But the enemies have refused to accept irrefutable scientific evidence and are bent on their mischief.
It is ironic, that after more than 1000 years of Islamic rule and 200 years of British Rule, the varna ashram is blamed for the social ills of India thus ruling out the Islamic and British exploitation of the society reduced the people to hunger and starvation. It was under these circumstances that our ancestors left India to work as indentured laborers in scattered colonies of the British Empire including The Caribbean.
The Varna ashram identifies a range of professions with a high degree of specialization and mastery of specific skills. Today, this division of labor is reaping huge dividends. The latent skills of individuals and groups are now finding expressions in modern economic enterprises, thus providing work and opportunities for all. The extent of the contribution of the varna ashram to India’s modernization needs to be researched to better understand the dynamism of division of labor (and long before Adam Smith.)
As Hindus, we must equip ourselves with the knowledge to defeat the arguments of the enemies. We must always heed the wisdom of the Sun Zu-the Art of War, that propaganda win war, not armies.
