Paras Ramoutar

Paras Ramoutar

Former councillor, Paras Ramoutar wants the Brasso Police Station be reopened in the midst of several cases of break-ins and thefts in the Caparo area and environs.

Ramoutar said that with the closure of the Brasso Police Station, several years ago, an initiative of former Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith, the several communities of Flanagin Town, Brasso, Todds Road, Caparo, Chickland Road, Carr Trace and Carr Trace Extension, residents are wary of home invasions.

“Residents have complained of seeing strange vehicles and persons routing the communities, and the only Police Station is Gran Couva, which is several miles away. There are several business and other commercial enterprises in the area, and residents fear for their safety and lives”, he said.

In the wake pf these developments, Ramoutar has called for the establishment of a Police Post which he had called several years ago, during the reign of the UNC Government, and despite repeated requests for same, the calls have been echoed to deaf ears.
