Dear Dr. Mahabir and Ms. Mohammed,
The Indian Diaspora Council International (IDC) and its global membership congratulate the
Indo-Caribbean Cultural Centre (ICC) on holding its 300th Session being held today.
This is an extra-ordinary and unique achievement that strengthens the bonds among people of
Indian origin in the Diaspora, in particular descendants of Indian indentureship (Girmitya). At the
same time, these sessions are important for historians, officials and agencies to understand and
address issues pertaining our unique history.
The Indian Diaspora is grateful for your sustained and persistent efforts to engage persons with
various backgrounds globally to address current, critical issues of interest and concern among the
Indian Diaspora.
IDC commends you on the enormous extent of time, effort and resources to plan and hold the
weekly sessions that continue to make a huge impact globally – and I applaud your personal
contributions to connecting people, ideas, suggestions and recommendations that enhance outreach
and dialogue among the Indian Diaspora.
