Dr Vindya Persaud, President of Guyana Dharmic Sabha, was the Chief Guest at commemoration of the 50th anniversary since the founding of the Hindu organization in Guyana. The Dharmic Sabha New York praant hosted the commemorative program last Sunday afternoon February 4 at the Maha Lakshmi Mandir in Liberty Avenue and 128 Street.
The praant is led by Dave Thakoordeen of Queens, formerly of Tain, Port Mourant, Berbice. There was a cultural variety concert and short speeches. Dr Vindya gave a stirring speech interrupted by loud applauses.
Last month the Dharmic Sabha hosted its own commemorative program in Kitty on January 21 attracting thousands of devotees.
