Former Local Government Representative and community activist, Paras Ramoutar is calling upon Minister of Works and Transport to the intervene in Caparo and other neighboring districts to rectify the poor condition of the roads.
Ramoutar appealed to Minister of Works and Transport, Rohan Sinanan to change his compass from the East West Corridor and switch on to Plains of Central Trinidad.
This is the genesis of a letter sent to him by former Councillor Paras Ramoutar complaining about the state of the roads. “The Brasso Caparo Valley Road from Montrose to Tabaquite is dotted with depressions, landslides, broken bridges with no railings, potholes and overgrown grass, all of which make this roadway a safety hazard. Road deaths could hang in the horizon.”
The Brasso Caparo Valley Roadway divides both the Caroni Central and La Horquetta/Talparo constituencies, Opposition MP, Arnold Ram and Government Minister, Foster Cummings, respectively.
Drivers and pedestrians are at a lost that the Government has taken a blind eye to the conditions of this major road which links Rio Claro and Tabaquite to Chaguanas.
“It is projected that the school term would start in September and Minister Sinanan must give this matter one of urgency, as he continues to do in other parts of the country,” Ramoutar added.
