The Demerara Bank is scheduled to be formally opened on Friday, December 22, 2023. Leonora which was one of the first sugar estates to be closed, has bounced back from economic downturn and social distress to become a township. What a remarkable transition! Thanks to joint efforts among the PPPC government, the private sector, and the people of Leonora and adjacent communities. Congratulations to everyone involved in this project.
