Guyana in Discussions to purchase Indian aircraft

India’s High commissioner to Guyana Dr KJ Srinivasa,   who is in India for the current visit of Guyana Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo, told reporters on Friday February 24 that discussion is underway between Govt of Guyana & Hindustan Aeronautical Limited for for the purchase of Indian made Dornier aircraft. The HC said that Guyana is in need of aircraft to patrol the coast and to fly inland for mining related activities. He also said that Guyana is in needed of fast moving patrol boats and that India is in a position to supply them.

Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo is in India to discuss increasing cooperation between Guyana and India.
