Hindology-Hindu Ideology

Hindu Ideology

Why is Ideology Important?

Throughout this essay, I will answer this question in parts as needed.

My early experience with ideological distortion, and its effect on confusing the political consciousness among Hindus and Indians in general.

Part 1

It is important to recognize that the ruling classes in all countries try their best to determine ideological and political consciousness among the masses of the people. When a nation is newly conquered, force is the main instrument the new ruling class uses in order to keep themselves in power e.g. the Norman conquest of England. In cases whereby the ruling class (Normans) became the traditional rulers for several hundred years, this class maintains its’ dominance less by force, and more by its powers to control ideological consciousness of the people through the states’ institutions: Church and religion, schools, cultural organizations, and employment etc.

First, let’s look at this issue from a fundamental or lay persons’ point of view. As a child growing up in Trinidad, in the midst of the PNM vs. DLP battle, I was often confused when I saw Indian Christians and Indian Muslims campaigning and supporting the PNM, which was considered an anti-Indian party. As I grew older, I realized that Christians and Muslims considered the Hindu dominated DLP to be a greater threat to their interests than the Black dominated PNM. Why the above groups adopted this anti-Hindu-DLP thinking? Christians saw themselves as the most educated, and closer to Europeans in culture, mannerisms, and attitudes. In those days, the ideal of colonial society was to become closer to being a European in every possible way. Christian Indians, originally mostly of Hindu background, were not only ashamed of identifying with the backward illiterate Hindus and their customs, but they had a fear the dreaded backward Hindus would drag them back to the Stone Age. Dr. Winston Mahabir, leader of the Christians/Presbyterians stated that Hindus have hookworms in their brains. The Muslims imported the Hindu/Muslim-India/Pakistan division from the Indian sub-continent, and continued this war in Trinidad. The Muslims believe that a Trinidad political party that is dominated by Hindus would be a threat to Islam. Both of these groups went along with the Black dominated PNM. In a sense, these two groups when they converted to the Abrahamic religions, they crossed the ‘Kali Pani’ and lost their ancient Indian heritage. One group became pseudo-Europeans and the other became pseudo Arabs. At times, they were the best warriors against Hindus. These groups were now fighting the cause of their earlier conquerors.

After the PNM gained political power, the leader of the Christians, Winston Mahabir was kicked around in the PNM. In shame, he left Trinidad and went to Canada. Dr. Mahabir never told the public of the stinging racism he experienced in the PNM. In Canada, Dr. Mahabir wrote a book “In and Out of Politics.” In his book, he could have enlightened Indians on the early racism of the PNM.  President Ellis Clarke, in a most racist statement, boldly told Kamal that the nation was not ready for an Indian Prime Minister. When the PNM needed Muslim votes, Kamal was the best Muslim. Now that the PNM did not want Kamal as Prime Minister, they discovered that Kamal was an Indian.  Even Kamal discovered he was first an Indian, and then a PNM. If these Indians shared a well-developed ideology, they would have known that their various interests were with the common bonds we have in the Indian community. Sadly, this was not the case. Indians spent the last 70 years jumping around politically as lost sheep in the wilderness, looking for their Sheppard. Eric Williams said Indians should give up India and our Indian Identity, but when the PNM and other Black groups want to kick us around, they suddenly define us as Indian.

We cannot forget the past history or contemporary politics of India. Like it or not, we are products of our past. The past is within us. Neither can we ignore our connection with India. India’s rise and fall will affect Hindus and non-Hindu Indians all over the world. I have observed as China rose to become a wealthy and powerful country, Chinese worldwide have seen an uplift in their status and opportunities. The rise in China’s status has contributed to the rise in the status of other East Asians such as Vietnamese and Phillipinos in New York, where I have lived. I have travelled to over 50 countries on every continent. Wherever, I have travelled, people identify me as Indian and treat me as an Indian. In America, with the exception of the Native American Indians, all American are considered hyphenated people i.e. English-Americans, Irish-Americans, German-Americans, and Hindu-Americans etc. Being proud of your ancestral heritage and homeland in America is acceptable. If a great people such as Americans can be proud of their Hyphenated heritage, then certainly Hindus in the Caribbean can be proud of their Hyphenated heritage. Black Trinidadians are certainly proud of their African heritage. Black Trinidadians are always promoting African culture, dress styles and adopting African names.

Part 11

Changing of the Guard, European power elite out, Black power elite in.

In Trinidad after independence, there was a changing of ruling classes. The European handed over political power to the emerging Black Middle class elite. This new elite had many challenges. Their greatest challenge was to control the Indian masses. The Indian Muslims and Indian Christians were won over to the PNM. Hindus were now abandoned to maintain and carry the burden of Indian identity and forge a political role for the Indian community. The Hindus stood firm and proud to challenge the political power of the Black dominated PNM. The preceding dominant ideology supported the rule of the European ruling class. All non-Europeans felt they had an equal right to reach for the top political positions. There was no dominant ideology that would allow Hindus to easily accept Black rule.

Eric Williams, leader of the PNM, had to use every means necessary to dominate Hindus. The following were his bullying policies: prohibiting Hindi in schools, importing Grenadian migrants to build his voter banks, developing violent gangs such as the Marabunters to bully Indians during elections, creating a black dominated army-regiment, keeping the police predominantly black, and most importantly- Hindus were denied jobs in government and private companies that were allied to the PNM. Of course, Eric Williams tried to develop an ideology to encompass all Trinidadians so he would have to rely less on force to get Hindus to accept his rule. The constitution says every creed and race finds an equal place. Hindus know this has not always been the case in Trinidad. The peace has been kept in Trinidad, not because Hindus are generally peaceful, but because they have been politically naïve. Lacking a clear ideological perspective on politics, Hindus did not possess the sophisticated analytical skills to understand the intensity of the discrimination they were experiencing. Hindus felt the intense discrimination in their bones, but they could not adequately visualize or verbalize it. Added to all their problems, Hindus did not get any support from abroad, especially India. Local Hindus fought their battles alone. There was no international solidarity among Hindus. Hindus in the Diaspora (Trinidad, Surinam, Guyana, East Africa, Fijis etc) were left to fight their battles in isolation with no help from each other, not even vocal support from foreign groups. In Trinidad, most Indians were not even aware of the oppression that Indians were facing in Guyana.  At the same time, Indians were being kicked out of Uganda and Kenya.  India provided no leadership for its overseas children.

The fact that Indians in, different countries, lived in isolation from each other is a testament to our historical ignorance and lack of a nationalist ideology, which other racial groups had already developed. When Mao TseTung came to power, one of the first policies he implemented was to reach out to overseas Chinese.   Throughout the world, from Harlem to Africa to the Caribbean, Blacks had developed an international solidarity to fight for their causes. Blacks could call upon other Blacks worldwide for support. Black Caribbean Leaders knew of the grinding oppression Indo-Guyanese were experiencing under Forbes Burnham, but not one of them spoke out against the situation. These Black leaders preferred to sacrifice moral decency in the name of Black solidarity. In the 1980,’s when I was teaching in Trinidad, the Fijian race problems were raging; a dougla woman asked me “what’s wrong with Indians? why don’t they assert themselves?” Max Weber stated that Hindus don’t seem to be able to assert themselves.

In Trinidad, all groups joined the winning PNM: Indian Muslims, Indian Christians, Syrians, Local Whites, and Chinese. It was all against Hindus and Hindus against all. Hindus survived through hard work, entrepreneurial genius and sacrifice. Necessity is the mother of invention.  Our entrepreneurial genius turned “Doubles, Aloo Pies, and Roti,’ into an Industry for survival.

In this new world of the Americas, we as Hindus have travelled through a maze of past cultural experiences, racism, and ideologies that were forced on us: 1). the colonial Ideologies tried to make us into perfect Christianized Europeans 2). and, as Hindus since Independence, we suffered from the racist ideologies of Black nationalism, which Black Caribbean leaders tried to force on us to deny our Hindu/Indian heritage e.g. in Trinidad, Eric Williams created an atmosphere that was hostile to anything that was Hindu. The Local Whites and the Syrians got official privileges from the PNM. Black leaders felt that their people could not compete with Indians, so they supported the “Whites and Syrians in Commercial Affairs to compete with and keep in check the Indians.” From the highest levels of government to the man on the street, they all displayed hostility towards Hindus. Petty racism flourished in the day to day encounters e.g. Blacks felt empowered to curse out and threaten physical force against Hindus. The racial hostility was partly due to the fact that Hindu-DLP politics was the main opposition to the PNM. Also, Hindus proudly maintained their religion, culture and history. Hindus were the only ones who did not pledge allegiance to the religions of the Abrahamic conquerors. This pride and independence on the part of Hindus was seen as an ideological threat.

Part 111

Historical and analytical perspective on how ideology was used by conquering nations.

Every day, in all countries, there is a continuing battle to control the dominant political ideology. Leaders know whoever controls ideology, controls political consciousness, and the loyalty of the masses. From ancient times, this political fact was recognized. When the Romans conquered new territories, they introduced their language, culture and religion. If the natives accept Roman culture, it was easier to command loyalty. When the French Normans conquered Britain, they introduced the French language, and culture to control the British people. When Europeans began the conquest of the third world, they had to establish a common bond with the natives. Europeans used brutal force and mass killings to subdue the Native Americans. However, when force is over used, the people become immune to it, and they will rebel. Europeans used cultural domination by introducing Christianity, European languages, and Education. These were the pillars of ‘soft political’ domination. If you are a Christian, and a white archbishop says do these things and you will go to Heaven, you will do what’s asked of you, if the alternative is “Eternal Damnation in Hell.” When the Arabs conquered countries, they brutally slaughtered the natives. The natives had a choice of accepting the Arab religion or face death or slavery. If the conquered natives, who converted to Islam, were directed by the Imam, you had to obey, if the consequence is death or eternal damnation. According to Will Durant, the Arabs and Persians slaughtered over 50 million Hindus.

We have to understand that conversion to another man’s religion is not a simple or innocent act. It is a major change in your life. It is giving the conqueror your entire body and soul. You “become your conqueror and turn against your people.” This is the “purpose of conversion.” If the entire nation accepts a foreign religion, then there will be a major change in the ideological perspectives of the body politic. Roman, Normans, Europeans, and Arab conquerors knew this fact. As political ideologies change, political alliances change, and new political classes and tribes will control political power. This is why it so important to control ideology and political consciousness. This process is happening in America right now. When Trump leaves, Biden will bring in a new political class with his victory. New political tribes will enjoy the benefits of power in Washington D.C. This is why the ideological wars were so important between Trump and Biden. Every group was pushing their agenda. The trick was to get the public to buy into either group’s political ideology. Every political tribe couched their ideology as the one that would be for the benefit of all the American people. In fact, when the dust settles, only certain political tribes will benefit. It is therefore of necessity to understand not only the ideologies being put forward, but the political programs and policies that would emerge when a particular ideological group wins political power. Whichever political groups that do not understand the ideological battles, and don’t choose correctly will lose out on benefits. If Hindus are to survive and succeed in every aspect of society in the West or in India, they have to develop their own Independent Ideology. In this way, Hindus will be able to chart their own future and not be victims of others and their self-serving ideologies. Politics have little or no benefits for neutral bystanders. HINDU IDEOLOGY MUST BE STRONGER THAN CARBONIZED STEEL.

Part 1V

The History of Foreign Ideology and its effects on Hindus in the Caribbean and India.

Look, we have to face some facts. Hinduism in its various forms represents the religion of the soil of India. It’s the mainstay of Indian culture, history, and heritage. Hinduism is what makes India unique among all nations. Even Europeans and Asians, notwithstanding politics, recognize the truths of Hindu religious contributions to world civilizations. Since religion is the basis of culture, we can say that most of East Asia got their basic religion and much of their culture from Hindu/Buddhist religions. We cannot abandon India. We are Indians. No intelligent people will abandon their heritage. There are “RENTED HINDUS/INDIANS,” who have adopted the attitude that we should abandoned our ancestral homeland, because we live in Trinidad, Guyana, and Surinam. Instead of always typing the names of the above three countries, I have coined the acronym TRIGUSH (TRI-Trinidad, GU-Guyana-S-Surinam-H-Hindus). We, the peoples of the TRIGUSH nations are nothing without our Hindu past. Other peoples don’t abandon their ancestral homeland; why should we abandon ours. They want Hindus to break ties with India. Would Roman Catholics break ties with the Vatican? Would Muslims break ties with Mecca? Would Evangelicals in Trinidad break ties with their base church in the U.S? Would Europeans break ties with Europe?

Would Blacks break ties with Africa? Would Chinese break ties with China? HINDUSTANIS are the oldest ETHNO-RELIGIOUS CIVILIZATION.

The “Classic Phase” of Hindu civilization declined long before there was an Egypt, Rome, Babylon, Maya, Aztec, Inca, and Chinese Yellow River civilization. Our ethnic group was created millions of years ago in the HIMALAYA MOUNTAINS, where we received the VEDAS from LORD BRAMHA. Then, we were INSTRUCTED TO SETTLE IN HINDUSTAN, which was RESERVED EXCLUSIVELY FOR US. Why should Hindus and Indians break ties with India- the mother land for all Indians and all civilizations? IF HINDUSTANIS ABANDON HINDUSTAN/INDIA WE WILL BE GOING AGAINST GODS’ INSTRUCTIONS. Let me state clearly “all Indians are Hindustanis.” Some of our brethren have strayed into other religions. They can return to Hinduism.

Unfortunately, in the sub-continent religious conflict continues. Most of Indo-Pak fighting has to do with ideological battles. Pakistan accepted wholeheartedly the religion and culture of their Arab conquerors, while abandoning their Indian origins and culture. Many Pakistanis say they have no Indian blood. They were never converted. They were always Muslims. The original religion of India was Hinduism. All Indians are descended from ancient Hindus. If people are not descended from ancient Hindus, then are they Indians? Pakistanis go out of their way to prove they are not Indians. Pakistanis frown on wearing Saris, but wear every form of Arab clothing. Pakistanis have an ideological problem of accepting an Indian Identity. This identity problem affects Indian Muslims all over the world. Anywhere, I have travelled in the world; I have seen Indian Muslims fighting for Arab causes. I have yet to see Indian Muslims fighting for Indian causes, with few exceptions. It is a sad situation. The Arabs converted Indians to Islam and divided India. If Muslims don’t get over their ideological problems with India and Hindus, there will always be problems between these two groups. Similarly, Christian Indians have to get over their obsession with being European. In my own family, I have members who converted to Christianity. They always thought of themselves as Europeans. Now, some of them are re-discovering their Hindustani roots.

In Pakistan, the Arab conquerors are treated as heroes. Arabs are exalted as the people who brought religion and culture to Pakistan. Pakistanis are willing to fight Arab wars at the expense of neglecting the development of Pakistan. Pakistan is a good example of what colonization and religious conversion can do to a people or nation. Pakistanis are absolutely absorbed in Arab culture and problems. At the same time, Pakistanis hate Hindus. In Pakistan, Hindus are often mis-treated and abused. Hindus are forced to convert, or they get no help from the government. Hindus are constitutionally prohibited from building mandirs. Recently, a mandir that was being constructed in Pakistan was broken down by a Muslim mob. In India, Muslims can build as many mosques as they can afford. Bangladesh, which got its independence from West Pakistan with India’s help, equally mistreats Hindus. Over 10 million Hindus have been driven out of Bangladesh, while over 20 million Muslim migrants from Bangladesh live in India illegally.

Regardless of the politics of India, Muslims have more rights in India than Hindus have in either Pakistan or Bangla-Desh. Again, the source of the conflict between the two communities is the struggle for dominance between the foreign Abrahamic religious ideologies of Islam, Christianity, and Marxism; and the Hindu religious ideology of the BUMIPUTRA or CHILDREN OF THE SOIL OF INDIA. Again, we see if you want to divide people, introduce a foreign ideology.

Part V

Ideological battles with Socialism and Secularism in India.

The biggest enemy, of the Hindu community in India, has been the Indian National Congress. The Congress Party introduced the ideologies of Socialism/Atheism and Secularism to divide and conquer the Hindu people. Socialism/Atheism denies the existence of God, especially Hindu Gods, while ignoring the gods of Christianity and Islam. Secularism tries to reduce Hinduism to just a ‘way of life.’ At the same time, the secularists don’t try to reduce Islam or Christianity to just a ‘way of life.’ Again foreign ideologies created divisions among Indians by attacking Hinduism.

This Congress party of socialist/atheists has falsely used the good name of Mahatma Gandhi to promote its’ political hold over India for about 60 years. Jawaharlal Nehru daughter, Indira stopped using her married name –Indira Khan (wife of Feroze Khan), and adopted the name of Indira Gandhi to associate herself with the Mahatma. The average poor illiterate Hindu thought Indira was a Hindu and voted for her repeatedly. The bigger problem is that the educated and affluent Hindus went along with this scam. Why we may ask? Hindus coming out of 1200 years of Muslim and European domination LOST THEIR NATIONALIST/IDEOLOGICAL/ POLITICAL guide map, and never developed a COMPREHENSIVE IDEOLOGY to guide them in the post-colonial society.

Under the Congress Party, a new ‘DOMESTIC COLONIALISM’ replaced British colonialism. How this domestic colonialism manifests itself? The main “vehicle for domestic colonialism” are the ‘Rented Hindus.’  These Rented Indian Absurdities have their navel strings buried in Opportunism. These Rented Hindus have a two prong strategy: 1). Promoting their economic self-interest and 2). And, declaring Ideological war against Hindus.

Promoting their Economic self-Interest by working with: 1). Maharajas, tribal leaders, and money lenders, who preserved their privileges by selling out to the British; 2). Upper level bureaucrats in various government ministries, who switched loyalty from the British to the Congress Party; 3). Businessmen, whose navel strings were tied to Muslim Nawabs, and later British officials, and now needed to maintain links with the new power elites in the Congress Party;

IDEOLOGICAL WAR AGAINST HINDUS:

4). The Leftist Socialist Ideology took leadership of the Ministry of Education and controlled the education system from University to elementary schools. In this way, the anti-Hindus were able to prevent the teaching of the VEDAS and Hindu heritage in schools, while other religious groups were able to teach their religion. Just imagine, in the land of the VEDAS, it was against the law to teach Vedic Knowledge. Teaching Vedic Heritage was met with an avalanche of negative criticisms.  Around 1973, Prime Minister Indira Khan (alias Indira Gandhi) introduced a secular amendment, in the constitution of India, to be used as a weapon against Hindus.  Armed with this amendment, it was open warfare against Hindus.

5) The Secularist kept trying to reduce Hinduism from a religion to just a ‘way of life.’ Hinduism has all the trappings of a religion: A Supreme Being-Brahma and many other gods and goddesses, prayers and rituals, salvation from God, and miracles etc. Yet the Socialists kept trying to denigrate Hinduism as just a ‘way of life.’ Occasionally, we would hear HINDU DUNCES saying Hinduism is just a way of life. In India, religions get protections from the government. If a religion has been reduced to just a ‘way of life,’ then it gets no protection. The hurtful and damaging aspects of this situation is that people, who were supposed to be Hindus in the government, and should have protected Hindus, turned out to be Rented Hindus, who would sell their own blood Hindus into slavery. These are the “namakarams” that live among us. Unfortunately, this has been the history of Hindus for the last 1,200 years.

Again, we have to continually ask ourselves, why, why, why, these things keep happening to Hindus. The answer is simple. We are an extremely confused people. Most Hindus have very little knowledge of the Vedas.  Ever since, we lost the knowledge of the Vedas, we have been wandering in an intellectual vacuum. We are considered easy targets for evangelical conversion in India and in the Caribbean.

Hindus need an Ideology free from:

  1.  The influence of the satanic “Rented Hindus,” who sell their heritage to the enemies of Hinduism. These ‘Rented Hindus’ are the lowest form of Hindus or human life in any country. Basically, they are maggots;
    1. The socialist/atheist anti-Hindus, deny the existence of Hindu Gods as real;
    1. The evil secularists try to make our religion just a ‘way of life.’

We already have the sacred Vedas. Now we need to learn the Vedas. From this learning, we must continue to develop a Hindu Nationalist Ideology- a HINDOLOGY, our Hindutva. We must have a Caribbean Hindutva that reflects the struggles of the Hindus of the TRIGUSH region.

HINDUTVA ideology is not against any other religion, people, or culture. Hindutva is just trying to raise Hindus to a level playing field with others.

 Part V1

Learning from the Struggles of Others, and from Our Own Mistakes.

While the Black political awakening was taking place in the 19th century, the Jewish political awakening was also taking place. While Blacks in America were demanding greater political rights, Jews were demanding a ‘Jewish Homeland’ in the Middle East, where ancient Israel was located. These two groups were at the bottom of European societies. Today, these two ethnic groups have attained political rights, and have been elected to top political offices beyond their wildest dreams e.g. 1). Obama was president of the U.S, a country where blacks were once slaves, and no one expected a black man to ever get equal political rights; and 2). Israel is a Homeland for Jews. Now we have Kamala Harris as the vice president of the U.S.  These accomplishments took more than a century of political fighting to present the black civil rights agenda, and the Jewish Homeland agenda, by fostering ideologies that favor these two ethnic groups among Europeans. In the 19th century, Europeans were very often anti-semitic and racist towards black civil rights. Black and Jewish people by pursuing an unrelenting strategy of pushing their goals in a nicely ‘wrapped’ ideology captivated the minds of Europeans. These two ethnic groups were able to dominate the narratives concerning their welfare and interests, while at the same time they were able to neutralize hostile forces.

Their “Nationalist Ideology” was their guiding light that gave them their confidence that their goals were righteous, while their enemies were on the wrong side of history. Jews and Blacks don’t apologize for their Nationalist Ideologies. Anyone who disagrees with the Jewish Nationalist Ideology is called “An Anti-Semite,” which is equivalent to calling someone a racist. Similarly, anyone who disagrees with the various forms of Black Nationalism is called a racist. Calling anyone ‘An Anti-Semite or a Racist in the Western world has the effect of neutralizing the accused.

People have to be brave and speak up and explain, they are not racist, by putting an alternative point of view. Hindus in the Caribbean, all too often, have “weak Knees” and will not stand up and assert themselves. Calling an Indian a racist in the Caribbean frightens that Indian to death. This is very important to know, because rarely would the general Indian population support an Indian if he raises the question of racism against Indians in the Caribbean. Indians prefer to sweep these questions “under the rug.” In fact, Rented Indians will be the first to call other Indians racist, to promote themselves as friends of Black Community. Again, this is how “screwed up” Indians/Hindus are in the Caribbean. We lack a Clear and Bold Ideology such as Jewish Nationalist Zionism or Black Nationalism (“Black Lives Matter” movement), that promotes our Hindu advancement, regardless of critics.

Being able to express yourself freely is what Democracy is all about.  These two ethnic groups were able to accomplish the Herculean task of changing the views of an ‘Ultra White Racist and Anti-Semitic America’ and Western Europe, to an America and a Europe that now embraces Blacks and Jews as brothers. This is the power of ideology. The power to get other people converted to your cause. Ideology gives us the power to control the narrative concerning our interests. Today, there are white Europeans, who are willing to fight for Black and Jewish causes. Ironically, there are Indians who are willing to fight for Black causes to the extent of sacrificing their own Indian civil rights and basic necessities. In fact, I have heard many Indian Socialist intellectuals, who were educated in a black dominated environment such as UWI, say openly that the Indians should sacrifice their interest and allow the black man to attain his goals first. These local “Rented Indians” believe that if Indians fight for Indian goals, before the black man achieves his goals, it would be tantamount to Indian racism. In other word, Indians must pursue a life of abstinence from pursuing political and economic goals, so the black man could attain his goals. The Indian should live in poverty and catch his ‘royal ass’ to please others. What a load of bull! During WW 1, India sent 3 million soldiers to fight for the freedom of Britain and the Western World. Again, in WW War 2, India sent 4 million soldiers to fight for the freedom of Britain and the West. This does not include the millions back in India, who were preparing supplies for the war. We fought in two world wars that had nothing to do with our interests. Indians have been helping others long enough. It’s time for Indians to pursue their interests.

These “Rented Indian Intellectuals” are serious. They are all too willing to sacrifice Indians to the ‘Alter of Poverty and Socialist futility.’ We must ask ‘Why would Indian Intellectuals state that Indians must make this grand sacrifice? These Indian Intellectuals were ‘fed a diet’ of Black Nationalism at UWI and UG (Guyana) over the last 60 years. Blacks, whenever they like an ideologythey give that ideology a black interpretation. They have turned civil rights into black civil rights, whereby their causes are given priority. The attainments of high political offices are reserved for Blacks. Socialism becomes black socialism. In socialist economics, the state nationalizes the industries that represent the commanding heights of the economy. The executive jobs in these state enterprises are almost wholly dominated by Blacks in Trinidad. Just last week, a friend of mine said he worked in PETROTRIN and Caroni Ltd. In both companies, the blacks were dominating the executive jobs. There are “Moronic Socialists Indian” intellectuals, who don’t have a problem with this situation. These Pseudo-Indian Intellectuals feel that Indians have to sacrifice more than others, WHILE THEY BEG FOR GOVERNMENT GRANTS.

Apparently, these intellectuals think Indians did not come to Trinidad in ‘Rags off the Indentured boats’ to work in the: rice lagoons; and cocoa, coffee, and sugar cane plantations. Indians worked their way up from the lowest positions in Caribbean Society. At that time, the Black Man was already working in government jobs, while their children were attending the best Catholic schools. In their distorted minds, these pseudo-intellectuals act as though Indians came on “The QE2” and have had it good, since they arrived in the Caribbean.

The Pseudo-Indian Intellectual suffers from a serious Mental Catatonic Stupor. We have to ask what kind of idiots would sacrifice their peoples’ interest, especially when such a people have been suffering for centuries. These half-baked intellectuals are a good reflection of the damage done by mental colonialism. These “poohar” Intellectuals have a few ideological problems: a). they came a generation or two late, into the politics of the Caribbean, b). typically, as Indians, they were lacking their own ideology, c). they were educated in an environment that was dominated by aggressive black intellectuals, d). they learned politics from Black nationalists. The Indian Intellectual copied the: black man’s political views; Black Mans’

Nationalist politics; Black socialism, where Blacks are mandated to get the major executive jobs. Because the Indian intellectuals lacked their own ideology, they lived in a world of Black Nationalist Ideology.

We must understand that when we live in another man’s’ world, we will pay a price. This is why the European wanted us to adopt his religion and culture, so we would be mentally enslaved. When the Indian Intellectual lived in the Black man’s world and accepted his Black ideology, he became enslaved to Black Nationalism. These Indians were trained to think the same way Black Intellectuals think. Black Intellectuals think Blacks should dominate: high political offices; and the top executive jobs in State Enterprises. In the late 1980s, Overand Padmore wrote an article in the newspapers that State Enterprises were supposed to uplift the Blackman. The Black-dominated Indian Intellectuals think Blacks should have those rights, even at the expense and suffering of members of the Indian community. By having their own ideology, Blacks are able to dominate their narrative, when it comes to pursuing their interests. By thinking the same way as Black intellectuals, the Indian Pseudo-Intellectual becomes a cog in the wheel of Black Nationalism.

By dominating the Indian Intellectual, through a Black Nationalist ideology, the black intellectual can dominate the Indian political narrative through the Indian Intellectual. If the Indian thinks as a Black man, he will support the black man causes at the expense of Indian causes. In a sense, the Indian has been living under a ‘Black colonialism,’ since Eric Williams came to power. While Blacks have been struggling to free their minds from white colonial thinking, the black man has dominated the Indian intellectually through his Black Nationalist Ideology. This has been a kind of Black Colonialism. Just as the Black man has been a creature of ‘White Man’s’ thinking in colonial times, the Indian Intellectual has been a creature of the ‘Black Man’s Nationalist ideology.’ The Hindu Intellectual can only free himself, when he develops his own authentic ideology in India and in the TRIGUSH countries. This ideology must reflect an understanding of the sufferings and hardships of past generations, and the accomplishments of the Hindus in today’s society. Such an Ideology should strive to make the Hindu an “Independent Thinker,” better prepared for the future ideological struggles, and not just an inferior cog in the wheel of Black Nationalism. Remember, if you accept your oppressor’s ideology, you will fight your oppressor’s wars, and ignores your own. Pakistan fights Arab wars, while it ignores its own economic development.  Pakistanis working in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf are treated as second class Muslims.

Part V11

The Need to Learn and adapt constantly.

Human beings have a need to understand the world around them. This process begins from the day a child comes into the world, and begins to stare at the ceiling from his crib, or stare at faces looking at him. A baby starts recognizing faces and sounds. That’s why a baby is most familiar with mommy’s face, or responds to mommy more than any other person. The process of understanding the world is a lifelong process. As we grow older, our parents pass on to us a world view through various mediums such as religion, culture, music, arts, and politics etc. This world view comes with some adequate explanations of many socio-political and physical phenomena. However, this world view comes with biases, ignorance, and misinterpretations of many of the same socio-political and historical phenomena. In other words, our world view is an incomplete and often a confused ideology. We have to constantly review our knowledge and improve our ideology to meet the demands of a changing world. Our misinterpretations and distorted world views are rooted in various sources:

  1. A static culture. A culture that never adapted and changed to keep up with changing times (Hindus, Muslims, Latin Americans, Eastern and Southern Europeans, most East Asia until the last 30 years).
  2. A conquered people forced to adopt a foreign culture (Colonial peoples in third world, the Irish, many Eastern Europeans, Koreans under Japanese rule etc.).
  3. An ethnic or religious group that is gradually being forced to adopt the culture/world view of another aggressive ethnic or religious group: all conquered peoples under Christian and Muslim rule; and, Indians under Black rule in the TRIGUSH countries.
  4. The failure of the leaders of the oppressed group to assert themselves, either because they were bought out, or these leaders are so engrossed in the socio-political culture of the dominant aggressive group, they cannot understand the sources of their persecution or even recognize their people are even being persecuted.  (Indians in the Caribbean who were largely introduced to Afro-socialism and Black Nationalism, whereby the interests of blacks are more important than others).
  5. And, the new post-colonial leaders find it is to their advantage to maintain the colonial institutions of the former colonial rulers, in order to keep themselves perpetually in power (the Congress Party of India and most of the leaders of the third world).

Thought Control and Ideology

It is important to understand that whoever controls our philosophy and ideology controls our world view, our thinking processes and our future socio-political actions or inactions. In the novel 1984 by George Orwell, we were warned of governments using ‘Thought Control’ and electronic surveillance to control their people. China’s suppression of the Uighur people reflects the most comprehensive use of the latest electronic surveillance methods for ‘Thought Control.’ At any time, China has over one million Uighurs in jail, or in “Thought Control/Re-Education Camps.” In these camps, the Uighurs are forced to accept Chinese: culture, speak Mandarin, and accept Chinese rule. Under ‘Thought Control’ the ‘Target Groups’ for victimization have to give up their basic beliefs/religion, and accept the ideology of the oppressor. In the TRIGUSH-Caribbean, Hinduism has been the main target of attacks by black nationalists, because they know that Hinduism is the cultural backbone of an independent and proud Indian identity. The Black nationalists know that if they destroy Hinduism, they will break Indian identity. An important strategy, in the destruction of Hinduism, is THE USE OF THE SEEMINGLY INNOCENT CHRISTIAN MISSIONARIES QUIETLY WORKING IN INDIAN VILLAGES CONVERTING HINDUS. Last year, I was returning from Surinam and I met a Trinidad Indian couple, who just returned from Guyana, where they were proselytizing in the Indian villages of Berbice. This couple seemed to be happy about their missionary work. I said ‘so you were polluting the minds of Indian people.’ They were in shock that I described their work as polluting Indian minds.

Historically, Presbyterians/Christians and Muslims were taught by their religious missionaries to fear their fellow Hindu Indians. At the turn of the 20th century, the Presbyterians missionaries did a good hatchet job on Hinduism by offering education and jobs as a reward for conversion. On the one hand, giving Indians an education or a job is a good thing. On the other hand, when you deny Indians an education or jobs that is mild coercion. There is no difference from Mother Teresa converting Indians with food aid. Let’s look at the political consequences of conversion. Winston Mahabir took the Presbyterians into a generation of loyalty to the PNM. Trinidad Muslims followed Pakistan’s anti-Indian policy and joined the PNM.  Presbyterians and Muslims felt so threatened by their fellow Indian Hindus, they allowed Eric Williams to manipulate their political alliance. Two generations of Hindus suffered under the PNM onslaught. Many members of my family had to emigrate to get jobs.

If Indians are to control their future, they must block any attempts at “Thought Control’ directed at them. French philosopher Jean Paul Sartre stated in his writings that people’s actions reflect their beliefs. It follows, when people change their beliefs, they change their political actions. This is why missionaries have always placed emphasis on converting Hindus to Christianity. When missionaries convert Hindus they create a bastardized Indians, who are lost among their fellow Indians. Converted Indians become instruments of suppression of their fellow Hindus Indians. In the Caribbean, Christian missionaries have been targeting Hindus communities. Believe it or not, Christian evangelicals have also been targeting Hindu communities in India, quite successfully in North East India among the Assamese and other tribals. Mainstream Hindus have often ignored Christian missionaries, either because of their complacency or ignorance.

To stop our cultural and religious bastardization, we must get our heads ‘straightened out.’     Too many Hindus seem to be all over the place when it comes to making important decisions in economics, politics, and military actions. When it comes to the survival of Hindus, we must not be disoriented. Hindus must have definitive policies that would guide all our actions in every sphere of policy making. India is the only major Hindu country in the world. The long term survival of Hindus rests on the leadership role Hindu India will play in the world.  Hindus all over the world must unite as one people. We must speak with one voice. We must protect each other, regardless whether we live in Trinidad, Guyana, or Surinam (TRIGUSH), U.S, U.K, and most importantly India. For the first time in history, India has a Prime Minister in the person of Mr. Modi, who wants to unite all Hindus in every part of the world.

Part V111

Need for Solidarity

In Britain, the conservatives say they will “fight for their Kit and Kin.” In Britain, this means conservatives will fight for their fellow “Britishers” to the end, even if they must send troops to foreign countries. India, under the Congress Party, has never showed interest in preventing the persecution of Indians in foreign countries (Africa, Fijis, or the Caribbean). China has always voiced its support for Chinese in foreign countries. Christians send hundreds of millions of dollars to support Christians, and further convert non-Christians to their faith. Muslims, all over the world have developed a strong solidarity with each other. Muslims will leave their home country and volunteer to fight in a “Jihad” against their perceived enemies. Hindus are the only people, who have very little solidarity with our fellow Hindus in other countries. Hindus must develop similar solidarity among all our Hindu Brethren.

Why have we not developed this solidarity before? One of main reasons is the lack of an all- encompassing ideology. I have travelled to every continent, except Antarctica. Whenever I have travelled to a foreign country, I have noticed when Europeans meet each other; they greet each other with compliments and respect. When Muslims meet each other, they greet each other with greetings of “Inshallah.”  When Hindus meet each other from different countries, we feel a need to establish who is more superior, or who the better Hindu is, or who has more money. When I visited Malaysia, a Hindu asked why I did not stay at a more expensive hotel. In the Fijis, in the midst of the overthrow of Prime Minister Mahendra Chaudhry, a few Hindus wanted me to know that they were equal to me, and my American passport did not impress them. In the U.K, a Hindu refugee from Uganda emphasized that he was British. In N.Y, Hindus from India believe they are superior, in a world of refugees. I am, often, reminded that Hindus from India didn’t come on the Mayflower. Chances are they came on the refugee express. When people have been dominated for centuries, every bit of social status becomes important. This is cause for Hindus having a psychological problem with superiority regarding class/caste/wealth etc.

Blacks or Africans call each other Brother. This is no co-incidence. Black people have a long history of developing ‘Black Nationalism’ and ‘Black Solidarity’ among blacks all over the world. In the 1920s and 1930s, American Blacks started the Harlem Renaissance movement, which influenced Black Nationalism throughout the world. American blacks reached out to blacks in other countries. In 1939, French Martiniquen, Aime Cesaire, wrote a seminal work on Black Nationalism. Cesaire called his philosophy Negritude. Negritude is about Black empowerment, Black pride, Black solidarity, and Black camaraderie. Negritude influenced Black Nationalism internationally.

In the 1920’s, India’s national independence movement, never reached out to Indians abroad, even though Gandhi got his start in South Africa. The Nehru family totally ignored overseas Indians. Ironically, this family even ignored or was openly hostile to Hindu culture and religion in India, even though they depended on Hindu votes. Jawaharlal Nehru passed Acts 30 and 30Awhich prohibited Hindus from teaching the Vedas, even in private school. Muslims and Christians were allowed to teach their religions. The Nehru family did nothing to prevent mass conversion of Hindus in India. Even though, Indians had developed Indian Nationalism vis-à-vis the British, there was very little interest in developing Hindu Nationalism vis-à-vis other groups. In fact, while other groups such as Christians, Muslims, and Sikhs pursued their nationalism, the Congress Party leaders denounced Hindu nationalism as communalism and anti-Indian. The original 1947 Constitution of India did not include secularism. Indira Khan, also known as Indira Gandhi, wife of Feroze Khan, included secularism in the constitution in the 1970s to secure Muslim votes, and to divide Muslims and Hindus. The domestic policy of stifling Hindus at home in India, became the foreign policy of ignoring Indians abroad.

After, 1,200 years of domination by foreign rulers, Hindus have developed a lack of confidence in their self-worth. They fight with each other to establish levels of superiority and self-worth. This situation was further compounded by the socialist Congress party of India, which tried to beat down Hindu nationalism, for over 60 years. The Congress Party never promoted Hindu achievements. Congress chose to promote Mother Theresa over Hindu social charitable foundations. Congress promoted Islamic history and achievements to get Muslim votes. All the while, Congress was preventing the teaching of Vedic Heritage in Indian schools. The irony of the situation is that Congress bashed Hindus, while depending on the all-important Hindu votes to remain in power. Now, we must ask, why Hindus voted for the Congress Party for 60 out of 70 years since independence. The answer is simple; Hindus were in the “Nether” world, floating for an ideological anchor. This ‘anchor’ must be an all-encompassing ideology that would be their guidebook for socio-political and economic actions – their ‘Hindology-Hindutva.’

In the Caribbean, we have a class of ‘Brief Case’ Indian patriots, who love to show up at meetings in their ‘Jacket and Tie’ to get some exposure on media as a ‘Concerned’ persons. However, ‘Brief Case Patriots’ never express controversial ideas, for fear of losing future opportunities for themselves and their children. Other “Jacket and Tie” patriots just want to get to shake the hands of important people, when they visit Guyana and Trinidad. Some Intellectuals love to write about the evils of the “Whiteman and Indentureship,” and “Girmityas,” but they will never talk about the evils of Black Racism against Hindus/Indians in Trinidad and especially Guyana. Look. It is important to talk and write about the past, but we don’t live in the past. We need critical knowledge of our present society in order to prepare for the future. However, these “government grant seeking patriots” are nothing more than ‘Rented Indians,’ who rent themselves out for crumbs.

Part X1

What is ideology? Think of a computer and the software that runs the computer. If you want a computer to perform a particular function, you have to use the correct software. For math calculations, you will to use software that performs math calculations. Similarly, if you want a human to be a slave or servant you have to teach that servant that working for his master is perfectly acceptable and decent by society standards. Lord Macaulay told the British Parliament in 1835 that: “I have traveled across the length and breadth of India and I have not seen one person who is a beggar, who is a thief. Such wealth I have seen in this country, such high moral values, people of such caliber, that I do not think we would ever conquer this country, unless we break the very backbone of this nation, which is her spiritual and cultural heritage, and therefore, I propose that we replace her old and ancient education system, her culture, for if the Indians think that all that is foreign and English is good and greater than their own, they will lose their self-esteem, their native culture and they will become what we want them, a truly dominated nation.” Lord Macaulay, Speech at the British Parliament-1835. Around 1790, Edmund Burke, in his book “Reflections on the Revolution in France,” warned the British Elite that intervention in the governance of India would bring innumerable damage to the “Ancient Indian Civilization.” In a sense Burke predicted the coming of Maculay.

In other words, Macaulay was proposing to “reprogram (introduce new software/ideology) Indians away from their Indian culture, and give them a new program (software/new ideology) that would make them a dominated people to accept British rule. Later on, Macaulay said that the Indian would be English in every way except color or race. The purpose of introducing English education was to culturally bastardize the Indian, to make him a mental slave. The more the dominated person or colonial people accept the culture of the foreign conqueror, is the more that person or colonial people become a perfect slave or servant.

While the English were introducing their culture in India, there were one million British people working as servants in England. In order to keep the servants docile and serve their employers, a book of prayers and mannerisms was introduced for the English servants to read, and study, so they would become better servants. While the colonial native was being dominated, the lower classes of England were also being dominated. The instrument of domination was ideology in the form of education, religion, and culture etc.

As we can see from Macaulay intentions, ideology does not come about by happenstance. It is not a neutral or innocent thing. Ideology comes about as a product of the relations: between the Conqueror and the Conquered, between the Exploiter and the Exploited, between the Master and the Servant. There is an economic cause and effect between the groups. Generally, the Master wants to control the Servants’ labor. The purpose of Ideology is to make this process smooth. Therefore, Ideology is made up of half-truths and half lies. The half-truths are sufficient enough to explain the world around the servant. The half lies serve the purpose of keeping the servant ignorant in a world of mysticism to keep him docile. The servant is told that the structure of society is “God’s Will,” and strict adherence to society’ rules is the path to salvation. Any deviation from the accepted ideology leads to damnation and a lifetime in Hell.

The only way the dominated people could free themselves is to overthrow the ideology that is the instrument of their domination, thus creating a new ideology that reflects the goals of freedom and liberation from oppression becomes a necessity. Each group has to develop an ideology that is specific to meet the needs of its people. In the world of ideology, one size does not fit all. We saw what “ONE LOVE” did in Trinidad. While the Hindus joined the “ONE LOVE MOVEMENT,” the other members of the coalition were pursuing their narrow self-interests. When the political split between Robinson and Panday emerged, no one from the other side of the coalition voiced support or sympathy for Panday.

Ideology, originally, comes from religious philosophy. Our religious philosophy was given to us by God according to the various scriptures. These scriptures formed the basis of a system of ideas, ideals, and myths, which attempts to explain how the world came into being and mankind’s place in this world. Since Gods’ word is perfect and immutable, we cannot find fault with scriptures. Very often philosophers find incomplete answers to questions in the scriptures. These philosophers attempt to clarify Gods’ word by adding their explanations of scriptures. Such explanations are the basis of Ideology. When men try to explain Gods word, they may clarify and answer certain questions about God and Human existence. However, since humans are not perfect, their explanations are usually incomplete. Human explanations often create more confusion and raise more questions about natural phenomena and human relationships, than provide us with answers. Nevertheless, the Ideology that passes down to us from past generations forms the basis of economic, political, social and religious beliefs that guides individuals, classes, tribal, racial groups, movements and entire nations.

The difference between philosophy and ideology is that religious philosophies are the basic principles that are God given; ideology is the human attempts to use those basic principles to explain the world around us. All religions have philosophy and their own ideology e.g. Muslims have the Quran and Hadith (Hadith is the ideological explanations by humans), Christians have the Bible and Christian writers such as St Augustine, Martin Luther, John Knox etc, Hindus have the Vedas and Hindu writers such as Manu, Swami Vivekananda etc. Similarly, in the ‘Natural World’ Science provides the basic principles, while Technology is the application of Scientific principles to solve problems to make our lives better by providing us with products such as T.Vs, Phones, and cars etc.  Hindus make up 80 % of the population of India. Hinduism is the indigenous religion of India. It is the land where Hindu gods walked and lived among the Indian people. The Arabs say its’ their duty to protect Islam as the native religion of Arabia and the Arab people. Yet, the Congress Party has never seen the necessity of protecting the native religions of India. Prime Minister Modi is the first Indian Prime Minister to devote himself to protecting and teaching the Vedic religion in schools. Why is Mr. Modi taking this path? It’s simple. Prime Minister Modi is guided by the Ideology of Hindutva.  This is an ideology of promoting Hindus and Hinduism because this is the native religion of India.

An important fact about Hinduism is that it is one of the few civilizations that can trace an “unbroken history” for over 50 thousand years. Christianity wiped out the native cultures of:  Europe, Ethiopia and the Philippines’. In Southern Europe, many of the native languages were replaced by Latin languages. Only the Basques speak their original language. In most ofAfrica and the Middle East, the native cultures and, in some cases, the languages were wiped out by Islam. Persia, Babylon, and Egypt only know of their ancient culture from museums. In East Asia, Buddhism replaced most of the ancient cultures. The atheist communist wiped out the remnants of the native cultures. Only Hindus and Jews have preserved their history as “living cultures” in an “unbroken line” from ancient times to the present. Most of the world people are practicing “imported and bastardized” religions and cultures. I have to ask the question, if Hinduism has such ancient religion, don’t you think that it should be preserved not in museums, but as a living and practicing religion/culture?

In the Caribbean countries with a substantial Hindu population, in the TRIGUSH AREA, we are the descendants of those brave early immigrants, who broke the taboos of the Kalapani- Blackwater and defeated the Hooglies (devilish demons). We came at a time when these countries were facing bankruptcies, and started working slavishly in jobs, which the former black slaves refused to perform. It was on our sweat in the: rice lagoons, the burning sunshine of the cane fields, back breaking labor of the coffee and cocoa estates, and other general agricultural work that fed the people of these countries. We pulled these countries out of bankruptcy and put their economies on a permanent road to economic to success. At the time of Independence, these countries had some of the best economies in the third world. It’s often difficult to face facts, but we must. All these countries’ economies were made bankrupt by Black governments. Forbes Burnham ran the Guyanese government to the ground. In the 70’s, 80’s and much of the 90,’s Guyanese had difficulty getting enough food to eat, especially the Hindus because of the racist PNC. To a certain extent, an idiotic Cheddi Jagan kept Burnham in power with his critical support of this dictator. “Bouterse damaged the Surinamese economy. The Jamaican economy was destroyed with socialist Bull. In Trinidad, the failed economic policies led to the black power riots of 69-70.

As I have been repeating throughout this essay, over and over, our minds and thinking patterns are screwed up as a people, when it comes to making correct political decisions. We the in th

TRIGUSH COUNTRIES need our own ideology, our own HINDUTVA, not a zerox copy of India’s HINDUTVA, but one that reflects our struggles and goals in the Caribbean.

I remember an old joke- there were two flies eating in a latrine, one fly was a gentleman, he always wore a “Jacket and Tie” to eat his latrine dinner, while the other fly wore blue jeans, and engaged bullshit conversation. The gentleman fly would get upset at his friends’ behavior. The gentleman fly would remind his friend that he does not like to talk shit when he is eating. Similarly, talking about two extremely exploited groups, who were so poor and helpless when facing the colonial authorities, can we really talk about “meaningless rights?” In any case, Blacks were receiving Western Christian education, and working in good government jobs, generations before Indians. Being better educated gave Blacks an advantage over Indians, when Independence came to the Caribbean. That is why Blacks were able to become the first Prime Ministers and Presidents, and hold most of the very highest administrative jobs in the governments throughout the Caribbean.

What every Hindu must know?

It may be difficult but we have to admit that Hindus have become DOCILE in the Caribbean, and even in India. After hundreds of years of BRUTAL PHYSICAL DOMINATION in India, Hindus were COWERED into DOCILE COMPLACENCY. Added to the physical domination, “Rented Hindus” in the service of their foreign masters served an ideological menu of cultural acceptance of domination to keep their fellow Hindus in a “Psychotic State” of servitude. To accept domination by foreigners is to be CERTIFIABLY DERANGENED. In Guyana, Forbes Burnham physically brutalized his opponents. Hindus were often on the receiving end of this brutality. Gangs of hardcore criminals were sent into Hindu villages. In these villages, these Gangs would break into Hindu homes beat and tie up the male members of the family, and rape the women in front of their husbands, sons, and brothers. Cheddi Jagan never condemned these crimes. He pretended these crimes never occurred. The violence of the PNC had a chilling and pacifying effect on the Hindu masses. To this day, Hindu Guyanese have not dealt with these atrocities. Their leaders prefer to sweep these things under the rug. I remember when I went to Guyana in the early 80s, Guyanese were afraid to talk about their government’s atrocities. Even in New York, Guyanese were afraid to criticize Burnham. In Trinidad, under the leadership of Bhadase Sagan Maraj, Hindus were more assertive. After Bhadase, the hordes of “Rented Hindu Socialists” began the pacification of Hindus.

If I may offer some immediate directives:

I know that European and Arab conquerors have many of our peoples’ minds under their control. I invite all non-Hindu Indians to conquer their fearsdefeat the Hooglies, take the brave step and mentally cross the KALAPANI, and return to the motherland of HINDUISM. Crossing the KALAPANI was a symbol of freedom. We in the TRIGUSH-Caribbean were among the first to cross the KALAPANI and set an example of freedom for other modern day Indian immigrants. If you can’t mentally re-cross the KALAPANI, at this stage, you can still join Hindus to work for the uplift of Indians in general. We must invite all our non-Indian brothers to join us in the long march for freedom and equality. However, we must not make the mistakes of the “ONE LOVE MOVEMENT,” where other groups pursued their interests, while Hindus sat by complacently.
