High Commission Guyana hosts Reception for 74th India Republic Day

The India High Commission to Guyana Celebrated the 73rd Republic Anniversary Day last Thursday morning at the Indian Cultural Center. There was a flag hoisting ceremony followed by read of the President’s Republic Day speech and a reception.

This is a most historically important occasion for India celebrating it’s 75th Independence Anniversary as Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, for 75 weeks India@75 from March 2021 to 15th August 2023.

The 73rd Anniversary of Republic Day of India was celebrated on 26th January 2023 by the High Commission of India, Georgetown with a Flag Hoisting Ceremony in the morning at the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre (SVCC), Georgetown.  After lifting of Pandemic related restrictions, attendance of Indian nationals and friends of India was impressive. 

          H.E. Dr. K.J. Srinivasa, High Commissioner of India, hoisted the tricolor Indian National Flag and read out the message of Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu on the occasion of the 73rd Anniversary of Republic Day of India.  The event featured a few cultural programmes performed by Ms. Varsha J. Chaudhari, Kathak Dance Teacher, students of Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre, students of Texila University and members of Indian Diaspora. Yoga performance by members of Indian Diaspora was an added attraction.
