Indian Diaspora Council Congrats Trump/Vance

Opp Leader Kamla of Trinidad and Tobago on Trump Victory

The Indian Diaspora Council issued a release congratulating Donald Trump and JD Vance on their successful election as President and Vice President respectively.

IDC Congratulates 47th USA President-Elect Donald J. Trump and Vice President-Elect Sen J.D. Vance The Indian Diaspora Council International (IDC), representing its global membership and affiliates, extends its congratulations to Donald J. Trump on his election as the 47th President of the United States and to Senator JD Vance as the Vice President-elect. Their victory in the 2024 US presidential elections marks a significant moment in American political history. The Trump-Vance ticket emerged victorious after a closely contested election, securing the mandate to lead the nation for the next four years. This election outcome reflects the will of the American people and underscores the strength of the democratic process in the United States. Trump was projected by AP to win at least 277 votes in the Electoral College. The final piece of the electoral math for him came with the call of Wisconsin and its 10 electoral votes for the 45th — and soon, 47th — president. Trump, who will be 78 at his swearing-in, now becomes the first person since President Grover Cleveland to win the presidency for two nonconsecutive terms. As President-elect Trump prepares to return to the White House, and Senator Vance readies himself for his new role as Vice President, the IDC acknowledges the importance of this transition for both the United States and the global community. The Council recognizes the vital role of American leadership on the world stage and its potential impact on international relations, including those with India and the broader Indian diaspora. The IDC looks forward to observing how the new administration will address both domestic and international issues that affect the Indian diaspora and the global community at large. As an organization representing a diverse international constituency, the IDC remains committed to fostering strong ties between the United States and India, as well as supporting the interests of the Indian diaspora worldwide. Donald J Trump, US President-Elect & Sen JD Vance, US Vice-President-Elect The newly elected Trump-Vance team will face several challenges of addressing the nation’s ongoing concerns and bridging divides across the country. Their election represents a significant shift in American political direction. The IDC acknowledges and respects the importance of this democratic process and the choice made by the American electorate. We look forward to seeing how the new administration will approach domestic and international issues affecting the Indian diaspora and the global community. “In this spirit of hope and mutual respect, the IDC extends its warmest wishes to President-elect Trump, Vice President-elect Vance, and the American people. May this new administration lead with wisdom, compassion, and a commitment to the principles that have long made the United States a leader on the world stage.” Dr. Nicole Bissessar, Director of Community Cultural Affairs, Indian Diaspora Council
