Inshan was lucky Rowley was not wearing his shit kicker. If he had, Rowley would have kicked his ass into the Gulf of Paria. He has good reasons to thank his lucky stars!
Inshan has a history of abusing the UNC Political Leader Ms Kamla Persad-Bissessar because of her Hindu identity. He definitely hates Suruj Rambachan whose only crime in the eyes of Inshan is that he plays the harmonium and sings bhajans. Inshan never liked the best bone in the late Sat Maharaj, Secretary General of the Sanatan Dharma Maha Sabha.
I am not at all against freedom of expression. I believe that everyone should have a right to express his views on public figures. However, the insults and tirades Inshan generated nightly in his tv program is an abuse of freedom of expression. No one had bothered to write the Telecommunication Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (TATT) to complain about his abuse of freedom of speech. When this writer asked Sat Maharaj why he did not complain to TATT about Inshan’s insane attacks on his person, he responded that “I would fight my battles. I don’t need the protection of TATT.”
Inshan is a neemakharam- an ingrate. He was granted a 10 acres parcel of state lands by the PP Government in Chaguanas for the construction of a hospital. Now seven years later there is no sight of a hospital. What is happening at the site is an active car park during the staging of Divali Nagar and operation of a food court. Is this not a breach of land use policy? Who are the beneficiaries of the income generated from the food courts and car park? It is certainly not ASJA or TML!
Inshan has a big mouth but has failed to learn from the past. Kamal Mohammed was a founder member of the PNM. He was outstanding in whichever ministerial portfolio he was given, be it in agriculture, health, local government or foreign affairs. Whenever there was a crisis in the government, Prime Minister Dr. Eric Williams always relied on Kamal to find a solution.
Yet, when Mohammed was discharged from the Mt Hope Hospital, the hospital’s administration refused a request from the family for an ambulance to take him to his home at El Socorro Road, San Juan, a distance of less than three miles. This refusal came notwithstanding the fact that Kamal Mohammed was the Minister of Health under whose watch the Mt Hope Hospital was constructed.
Hardeo Hardath, the PNM MP for Nariva, sat in parliament, and never uttered a word while the people of Tamana, Biche, Plum Mitan and almost the entire constituency went without pipe borne water. So long as Hardath was getting his pittance from the government, he was not bothered about the welfare of his constituents. Sitting as a backbencher with his signature dark glasses, Hardeo Hardath was the epitome of PNM’s contempt for the Indian community.
The PNM doesn’t need Harry Ragoonanan or Inshan as permanent fixtures in Balishier House. They are only there for decoration purposes, that is, to present an ambience of tranquility and racial harmony. Today the decorative pieces are Rohan Sinanan, Kazim Hosein, Clarence Rambharrat and Christine Kangaloo. Nevertheless, the latter two are more or less permanent fixture because they have long traded their ethnic pride and identity, surrendering totally to the PNM and now surviving on Balishier juice.
Inshan should have been a little more cautious. He should have realized that he cannot talk to Rowley in the same manner he did with Ms. Bissessar. Rowley is not the individual to take abuse or ole talk from someone like Inshan. Rowley is a ‘rango tango’ from Mason Hall who has his own style and mannerisms.
When Rowley told Inshan “kiss my ass” Inshan should have told him “I am already doing that.” May be Rowley sees no other skill in Inshan apart from “kissing ass.” What else contributed to Inshan’s rise in the politics but “kissing ass”?
Anyway, I like Inshan and would not dismiss him as useless. I think he is a stress reliever. Listening to Inshan is pure fun for me and I hope he would continue to entertain us. But on a more serious note, he should stop crying about Rowley’s ‘kiss my ass’ remarks and respond to him like a real man. It is an opportunity for Inshan to reclaim his manhood which he has mortgaged to the PNM.
