Kamla bereft of skills to unite opposition to win elections

Kamla Persad Bissessar

Dear Editor,

After being away from the public glare for over a month, opposition leader Kamla Persad Bissessar reappeared at her most venomous and destructive best.

Even though the pan was declared the national instrument, Kamla rolled up her tassa and beat up on the hapless Gary Griffith. At the same time, Kamla showed that she is bereft of the skills necessary to create the image of unity and any coalition to fight the next general elections. Her strong-arm tactics and bull-in-a-China shop attitude, her I am right, and you are wrong approach reeks of ineptitude, lack of self-confidence, and plain ‘bad’ mind and displays that she is the one-eyed queen in a blind kingdom.

Kamla did not learn anything from the recently held Democratic convention where the party was able to assemble the left, the center, and the right-wing members of the party to rally around their candidates for President and Vice President.

Unlike Kamla, the Democratic party displayed maturity and with open arms embraced all strains of the American society. They were not petty to describe those who had opposing views as traitors and ‘neemakarams ‘and probably most importantly the party was able to change their aging candidate to invigorate the membership and give them a chance to win the elections.

While the Queen suffocates and emasculates her party, the PNM is on the move making strategic decisions and announcements of new and exciting candidates.

Roll up the Tassa, Bissessar!
