Keith Rowley continues his attempts to usurp the authority of the CoP

Gary Griffith

The below is a release from NTA.

Having exposed their nefarious plot to inject the Minister of National Security into the legal Firearms process, a new plot has been exposed, where firearms dealers are now being asked to write to the Prime Minister to justify their request to purchase firearms or ammunition for their legitimate businesses.

Failing the first time during the debate of the Firearms Amendment Bill 2022, because independent senators saw the danger in having a politician involving themselves in the process, we now see the Prime Minister bullying himself into the process, as outlined in the letter attached.

Claiming power because he heads the National Security Council, which is a body with NO constitutional or operational authority, the Keith Rowley led government is once again attempting to overstep its authority, and to engage in actions that have been and are the purview of the independent body known as the TTPS.

That the auditors mentioned in the report are going along with this plan, shows just how clueless they are, and it also perhaps shows how beholden they are to those who hired and are paying them.  Perhaps a case of who pays the piper calls the tune, this is a dangerous step that must concern every businessperson, because in the conduct of their legitimate businesses, with no accusations, or allegations of impropriety levelled against them, they can now also be compelled to ‘account’ for their actions to the Prime Minister.

To be clear, the Prime Minister has no business in this matter, therefore, once firearms dealers meet the criteria established by the TTPS, they don’t need to justify anything to any politician, which perhaps explains why there was so much political effort to attack and demonise Political Leader of the NTA, Gary Griffith, when he served as Commissioner of Police, because they knew that he would have protected the country from the overreaching dictatorial fingers of politicians, who seem bent on eroding the very foundations our democracy is built upon.

An NTA in government is committed to reducing the powers of a Prime Minister, and we are committed to true democracy, not democratic dictatorship, and we look forward to your continued support to democratically get rid of Keith Rowley and this present PNM administration, who day by day are becoming more and more of a threat to the freedoms we presently enjoy.
