Dear Editor,
Historically, the Mandirs have traditionally been the nucleus of the Hindu communities and the principal edifices for the cohesion, preservation, and continuity of Hindu Dharmic traditions.
However, the biggest problem with the mandirs today is adequate funding for the cultural, heritage and relevant educative programs. Also, compensation for the pandits to support their families and maintenance of the mandirs must be considered key necessities.
Ridiculously, the Hindu Mandirs seem prone to foolish infighting and polarization, which are causing many of the youths to stay away and avoid toxicity. Without unity, the task is very difficult. Legal battles in the public only serve to strip the Mandirs. of its credibility and is a reflection of discombobulated leadership(s) with a disconnected sense of purpose.
Indeed! We can speak about expanding the roles but we must also consider funding, leadership and transparency if we are to survive the endless challenges of the the modern world and the aggressive proselytization forces that are principally committed to the eradication of Sanatan Dharma.
