MATERNITY WARD Inaugurated AT LEGUAN COTTAGE HOSPITAL

A new maternity ward was inaugurated on Wednesday April 12 at Leguan Cottage hospital. The Indo Caribbean Federation of America raised funds abd financed the rehabilitation of the ward.

The ICF was applauded for its efforts.

Mr. Ralph Tamesh, President of the Indo-Caribbean Federation of New York (ICF) and to all the others who made this project possible.
Sitting next to Ralph Tamesh were his granddaughter Ariel Tamesh (Chairwoman), former Minister of Health Dr. Bheri S. Ramsaran, Regional Health Officer Dr. Tandika Smith MP, Doctor in Charge of Leguan Cottage Hospital, Dr. Marcia Evelyn-Spencer and the Matron of Region 3, Mrs. Amanda Fedee-Cole.

The only thing that is missing from the maternity ward now, is an Ultra-sound machine. Mrs. Amanda Fedee-Cole, stated that for first time mothers and mothers with complications from previous pregnancies, or from their currant one, will get a referral to go to hospitals on the West Coast for precautionary measures.
