The Dharmic Sabha USA Praant hosted its 9th annual Chowtaal Samelan last Sunday afternoon February 26 at the Prem Bhakti in Jamaica, Queens. The program was organized by Dave Thakoordeen, formerly of Port Mourant, Guyana. Participants in the samelan included Guyanese, Trinidadians, Surinamese, and nationals of India. Chowtal Samelan festival used to be held in Guyana organized by the Dharmic Sabha. It has been transmitted to New York and other parts of the Guyanese and Indian diasporas.
