National Transformation Alliance Media release

No Fitzgerald Hinds, It’s not that 70% of citizens want you to fail, it’s that 70% have recognised that you have failed.

In what can be described as Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds’ most unhinged moment ever, during a press conference yesterday, called by himself, so that himself’s staff, could present himself with a policy document prepared by the same staff, so himself can pat himself on the back so that himself can feel better about feelings of inadequacy himself holds because he is not liked, Hinds stooped to new lows and pulled some incredible statistics without providing any evidence.

So whilst him saying 70% do not support him, would probably grab headlines, it was his other statistic that 20% of all citizens are somehow directly or indirectly involved in crime that caught my attention. This means that Hinds thinks that one in every five persons in our country, about 280,000 people, are criminals. Disrespectful to say the least, I would be curious to know what persons who felt that my comments describing Murderers, Rapists and Kidnappers as cockroaches would feel about Hinds saying so many citizens are involved in crime.

Ironically, at the beginning and end of my tenure as CoP, polls shows just about the same 70% support of me, from the same citizens, which means citizens support is there, and is likely as a result of track record and performance, not about hating or being for criminals, and about them being for what is right and good. So any shortcomings, real or perceived that Hinds is experiencing in support, says a lot about him, not citizens.

But even in the throes of his Madman’s rant, Hinds kept up the failed narrative attack against legal firearms, using the word ‘mayhem’ to describe the process. Here again I find it necessary to correct his misinformation.

No Hinds:

Mayhem is that your record since after taking over from Stuart Young as Minister of National Security has resulted in a total collapse in law enforcement and record highs in crime.

Mayhem is public trust and confidence in the TTPS moving from 55% to probably back below 14% during your tenure.

Mayhem is 586 murders from the beginning of September 2021 to the end of August 2020, all whilst we speed to over 600 murders for the first time, in a calendar year, in our history.

Mayhem is that in the aftermath of your patting on your back press conference, where you ‘cried’ about people not supporting you, a well liked and respected member of society was shot and killed in rural Blanchisseuse, and a mother and her ONE AND A HALF YEAR OLD CHILD was shot and killed in an ambush, all the way in another part of the island in Moruga.

Mayhem is constantly demonising legal firearms, and those it protects, trying to deny citizens a fighting chance against criminals, whilst lying in Parliament about asking a Commissioner of Police for firearms licences for your friends and colleagues, whilst another senior government official did the same for his friend, who was seeking a firearms dealers licence.

And finally Mayhem is when a society is forced to endure the most incompetent Minister of National Security ever, because it serves a political end, one whose record wherever he goes is failure and one who let slip that his job is not to provide safety and security for citizens.

No Fitzgerald Hinds, it’s not that 70% of people want you to fail, it’s that the vast majority of citizens know that you are a failure, this is why almost all of us breathed a sigh of relief when rumours spread that you were fired.
