Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley should have asked Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau for assistance in solving the extremely poor state of the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) to supply portable water to the nation, and as well how to repair and restore our dismal road system.

This is, of course, in addition to, the spiraling crime situation.

As was reported in the media, only Trinidad and Tobago had infrastructural problems, the result of 61 years political independence and political mismanagement. Our nation is in a very sorry and deteriorating state, particularly when the national populace is always begging and complaining for a quintessential commodity as water.

The message is similar with the road condition, and we must note that our asphalt paves the world’s road, and we are incapable to effect similar repairs to our road network.

There should be a name change for WASA…it should called FORD–Fix Or Repair Daily.

Mr. Editor for how long must the national population continue to beg for a glass of water to take a Panadol. And any government which fails to provide its citizenry with a life-threatening commodity as water, it is not fit to rule.

This is the Divali season and the Hindu commodity is in total confusion in that they need water for cleaning, and there seems to be no hope. What a shame?. At every Divali, the same song is sang.

Mr Editor, I hope you would give this letter the prominence it deserves.

Thank you.
