Devi Daemalingum, who hails from Guyana, walked into my class in the Spring of 2022. She was desperate to get her GED since there was so much riding on it, including her job, promotion, and college application. (Yes, a GED can get one admitted into college). The fact that she was nervous about them all did not help. But she worked hard and attended classes regularly. You can imagine the joy when she passed. Her family is proud of her. She is proud of herself. She is about to change jobs and fill out that college application. Her life has been changed.
