Was Keith Rowley aware that when he accused Cambridge Analytica in 2018 of “working” with the UNC, that in fact the same Cambridge Analytica was closely involved with TEAM JORGE, an Israeli Company that was working for the PNM and paid for by a PNM financier?
Prime Minister Keith Rowley has a penchant for continuously making false and fake allegations and innuendos, especially against his political opponents, even when they are repeatedly dismissed and shown to be just that – false, fake and far from the truth.
One such allegation Rowley repeats is that Cambridge Analytical (CA) had a “relationship” with the UNC since 2010 although CA was formed in 2013.
In May 2018, then Leader of the Congress of the People (COP) Carolyn Seepersad-Bachan said the COP never entered into any contractual arrangements with Cambridge Analytica. She acknowledged that former Leader Prakash Ramadhar had discussions with the company, but there were no contractual arrangements.
Seepersad-Bachan’s comments followed Opposition Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar’s continued denial of claims that the UNC had ever engaged the services of the data mining company which was at the centre of an international personal data scandal.
In fact, the TTPS initiated an investigation into Rowley’s allegations and two years later, then Police Commissioner Gary Griffith said the probe into CA’s alleged breach of T&T’s data privacy laws had been completed and the criminal investigation into the Cambridge Analytica scandal and its involvement in an alleged breach of the country’s data privacy laws have been closed.
This of course did not go down well with the Prime Minister; Rowley publicly expressed concern and dissatisfaction over the TTPS’s decision to end the investigation into the PNM-manufactured scandal, adding that “Trinidad is not a real place!”
And while Rowley and the PNM were making allegations against the UNC, it was then revealed that two firms, Washington-based Vestige Strategies and Houston-based Elite Change Inc were publicly boasting that they were instrumental in assisting the PNM to secure victory in the 2015 General Election by designing and executing a comprehensive, nation-wide “Get Out The Vote” efforts which resulted in a PNM victory. According to their websites, they built an incredibly talented and diverse team of consultants who proved merging culture and data-driven organizing strategies can be the difference in close elections.
Only last Sunday, the Express carried a story captioned “E-mail hacks and the Israeli connection” wherein TEAM JORGE, a covert Israeli group comprising Israeli security experts had claimed to have hacked into the email of former PM Persad-Bissessar between 2010-2015. The story further stated that by hacking the former PM’s emails, their mission was to create political mischief. It further said that a T&T businessman with deep PNM political connections had paid TEAM JORGE to execute the disinformation campaign.
Was Keith Rowley aware that when he accused Cambridge Analytica in 2018 of “working” with the UNC, that in fact the same Cambridge Analytica was closely involved with TEAM JORGE, an Israeli Company that was working for the PNM and paid for by a PNM financier?
Think about it… Keith Rowley accused the PP of working with Cambridge Analytica while that said company was partnering with TEAM JORGE whose services were paid for by a PNM financier and working for Rowley. When the PNM accuses you of something, be careful – they might be doing it themselves!
But deception has always been the PNM style of politics. And Keith Rowley has mastered the art of peddling and creating distractions, vilifying and dramatizing situations to suit his and the party’s own agenda.
From Emailgate to Nelsongate and even his recent statements in Parliament, Keith Rowley continues to deceive the people of T&T.
