Shaanti Bhavan Mandir, 109-10 98 Street, Ozone Park, Queens , New York, opened to the public last Tuesday April 25 evening for a nightly Yagya that concludes this Sunday April 30 with a morning service. (See attached). It is a newly constructed mandir in the heart of the Little Guyana and Indo Caribbean community. The Yagya is a discourse on the Ramayana. Opening of the mandir was scheduled for the commemoration of the 70th birthday anniversary of the late Shri Prakash Gossai of Guyana. Pandit Gossai was the leading exponent of the Ramayana in America and the West and one of the leading bhajan singers.
Nightly services are being held thru Saturday. Pandit Manoj, a disciple of Shri Gossai, is the spiritus leader of the Shaanti Bhavan Mandir.
