Shri Ram Defeats Ravana

Samaroo Avatar

In order to fulfill the Naralila – human drama, Shri Ram had to enact the convincing pastime of being an ordinary human being. This was in lieu to defeat Ravana, who had the unique boon of being able to only die by the hand of a mere mortal man.

To fulfill the criteria of being a human with all frailties and weakness, Ram had to undergo three feats. This will convince Ravana that this being is a mere mortal and no God or Vishnu is disguise. Therefore, having been convinced that Ram is a mere mortal, only then can Ravana accept death at his (Ram’s) hands.

Ironically these three feats that persuaded all of world that Ram is a mere mortal is the very same acts for which humanity condemn him. The acts were so earnest that even Mata Sati, Garuda, Kakabhushundi, among others could not believe that this is the Supreme Bhagavan Vishnu in human guise. And thus, Ravana was induced to accept that this is a mere mortal being.

The three acts performed by Shri Ram with confidence of being fully human are:

1) Sufferation at the loss of love – abduction of Sita
2) Victory by deceit and guile – cunning shooting of Vali
3) Wounding or bodily hurt – bound by Nagastra.

Having executed this Lila (human drama) foolish and imbecilic humanity condemns Shri Ram for doing the very same thing they themselves do in said situations. Ironic and hypocritical in the very least.

Shri Ram having satisfied the requirements to circumvent the boon granted to Ravana, was able to defeat him (Ravana).
