Surinam President Engages Diaspora in NY

Surinam President Shri Chan Santokhi on Monday evening September 19 addressed the Surinam and Guyana diasporas in New York followed by a meet and greet session including posing for photos with the large gathering. The talk was held at the Liberty Palace Banquet on 130 Street and Liberty Ave.

The President has been in the USA since last Thursday for meetings with Vice President Kamala Harris, participation in various Committees of the United Nations, and addressing the United Nations General Assembly which opened on Monday.

The President gave an update of the political and economic situation in his homeland and the efforts being made to deepen relations with the USA. He appealed to the diaspora to invest in their homeland.

The President called out lawyer Mr Gehi, praising him for his assistance to develop the website of the political party of which he is the leader.
