THE CARIBBEAN’S LARGEST GASTRONOMICAL ADVENTURE IS BACK!

The Anegada Lobster Festival Celebrates its 10th Year

Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands, 1 November 2022:  Lobster Season is here, and the delicious aroma fills the air!  It is “A decade of decadent celebration” as the BVI Tourist Board & Film Commission (BVITB&FC) celebrates the 10th year of the Anegada Lobster Festival (ALF).  From November 25 to 27, this festival will welcome foodies from around the world to Anegada to celebrate the shared love of food, music, and fun.

The Anegada Lobster Festival will kick off on 25 November with a “lobster crawl”, a bar crawl covering many of the island’s favourite watering holes.

Ten restaurants on Anegada are anxiously looking forward to preparing their specialties for all to sample.  Festivalgoers will have the opportunity to indulge in lobster prepared in over ten different ways – lobster wraps, lobster ice-cream, and grilled lobster, to name a few.  This scavenger hunt-styled event encourages everyone to take advantage of the many available ways to get around the island while exploring all the participating restaurants and attractions on Anegada.

“We are excited to welcome our residents and visitors back to Anegada and the British Virgin Islands to celebrate this milestone with us. In addition to delectable dishes from ten restaurants, there are amazing prizes and giveaways in store for everyone”, said Director of Tourism, Mr. Clive McCoy. “In addition to promoting gastronomical tourism, the event is expected to promote the major attractions to explore and the activities to experience on Anegada”.

The Anegada Lobster Festival is a welcoming event that caters to all food palates.  Each restaurant will feature food for all dietary preferences, in addition to entertainment by live bands or popular deejays.

About the Anegada Lobster Festival
Described as the most delicious adventure in the Caribbean, the Anegada Lobster Festival was launched by the British Virgin Islands Tourist Board & Film Commission in 2013, as an event to increase visitors to Anegada, the second largest and only coral island in the archipelago. Designed in the style of a scavenger hunt, this gastronomic spectacular encourages patrons to circumnavigate Anegada sampling the best, freshly caught spiny lobster flavours and decadent dishes over three days.  Patrons also visit the island’s land and marine attractions such as the Conch Shell Mounds, the Flamingo Pond, and Faulkner House Museum, and participate in the myriad of activities available on the island including scooter riding, horseback riding, and sportfishing.  Anegada Lobster Festival is the grandest event of BVI Food Fete, a curated series of culinary events taking place throughout the Territory during the year. The festival has grown over the years attracting hundreds annually and there has been a corresponding growth in visitor traffic to the island of Anegada.
