The Nuke Disaster in our Midst

The nuclear family is a mindset- it is selfish, cultish and brutal. At present it in the biggest threat to humanity, not just in one part of the world but globally. Is there a solution? Yes. It is a change of mindset- expand to embrace the community and neighborhood in which we live and work. Or, take up a hobby and rally people who share a similar interests. Simply, rise above narrow self-interest.

Siblings, generally, don’t reach out to one another today. Their world has been reduced to their children and grandchildren. The extended family doesn’t exist. The younger members of the clan do not know their relations. The grandchildren of siblings have never met and interacted with one another. More damning is the justification and defense of this selfish way of life, a legacy of western culture that we have adopted lock, stock and barrel and to our destruction ultimately.

It is heart wrenching that so many elders live alone with their professional children and grandchildren just having no interest in their existence. And if they do have some interest, it is in the property that they are leaving behind. These grandchildren find time to visit friends, go to the movie houses, restaurants and other sporting and social activities but unable to reach out to their grandparents. More so these children hide behind studies and the parents, mainly the mother, supporting their every indulgence, much to their personal destruction in the long run.

Demography is in decline. The number of off-springs are below the replacement value of 2.1 which is like the developed countries- Japan, South Korea, Western Europe etc. This is a crisis as labor from the developing world has to be imported. This is turn in resulting in a clash of cultures between immigrants and the host society. The current immigrant crises in Europe and the USA are not going to be solved by deportation as the initial question of labor shortages remain unanswered. In the USA the ban on Mexican and other Latino immigrants is resulting in a labor shortage in farms.

Are we thinkers or imitators? I think we are the latter without a doubt. To be educated in the third word is to imitate the programs and policies of the first world. We need to use our intelligence to address our needs including the challenges of living in a nuclear family. Bringing up children in a nuclear household is burdensome, thus the reluctance of many couples to have children today. This is a matter that warrant the urgent attention of policy makers – a do or die situation.

Who would be there to replace the labor force tomorrow and pay taxes to balance the budget? Though we are seeing the setbacks of this nuclear mindset, we are still reluctant to take corrective measures. Maybe the solution is in the hands of the government! Give incentives to young graduates – subsidized day care, housing, foods etc. – with three and more kids. Also, families with three generations living under the same roof should not only be lauded but incentivized by the state. This way of life would inspire us not only to tolerate but to accept diversity and respect for all, thus moving us away from our narrow nuke mindset which is truly a ticking time bomb and the biggest problem facing humanity.

Unconsciously, the nuke family has paved the pathway for those cultures that are breeding like rabbit to take control of the destiny of humanity. The recent loss of New York City to the liberal left is the most graphic example of this threat. Running from New York to Florida is not the solution and the barbarians are storming the city. It is a time to expand beyond your narrow self-interest and develop a global mindset that would preserve human values and not allow the terrorist fanatical hordes to usurp power.
