Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar Visits Nine Temples for Maha Shivaratri

The Honourable Prime Minister, Kamla Persad-Bissessar, continued her longstanding tradition of spiritual fellowship and community engagement by making nine stops at Hindu temples across her constituency on the sacred night of Sunday into Monday in observance of Maha Shivaratri 2026.

The Prime Minister was warmly welcomed by residents and devotees at each location — communities she has faithfully visited for more than twenty years during her service as Member of Parliament, consistently joining constituents in celebration, prayer, and reflection on this holy occasion.

Throughout the night, the Prime Minister offered words of encouragement and gratitude to attendees and extended heartfelt wishes for Lord Shiva’s blessings upon all present and upon the nation. She also encouraged parents to continue instilling strong moral values in their children, emphasizing that education remains the most powerful pathway out of poverty and the foundation for building responsible citizens and a stronger society.

2. Rama Krishna Mandir

3. Param Dhaama Ashram

4. Divya Jeewan Mandir

5. Mendez Ganesh & Devi Mandir

6. Hanuman Milan Mandir

7. Rochard Road Shiva Mandir

8. Saraswati Baal Vidyalai Mandir

9. Sumanie Trace Shiva Mandir

The Prime Minister, joined by various Local Government representatives from the area, concluded her final visit well after 2:00 a.m. on Monday morning, underscoring her dedication to maintaining close ties with her constituents and participating fully in important cultural and spiritual observances.
