Today March 8 as we celebrate International Women’s Day, it is my honor to join with my Leader, The Hon. Kamla Persad Bissessar and my UNC colleagues, to extend warm wishes to all the incredible women of Trinidad and Tobago.
This day serves as a poignant reminder of the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women worldwide.
We stand here today not only to celebrate the progress that has been made toward gender equality but also to recognize the significant work that still remains. Women are the cornerstone of our society, contributing their talents, skills, and passions in every facet of life.
So as we commemorate this day, let us recommit ourselves to the pursuit of equality, justice, and empowerment for all women. Let us strive to create a world where every woman and girl remains safe and has the opportunity to fulfill her potential without barriers or limitations.
To all the women of Trinidad and Tobago, I say: You are strong, you are capable, and you are valued. Your contributions are immeasurable, and your voices matter.
On this International Women’s Day, let us stand together in solidarity, supporting and uplifting one another as we continue to drive positive change and progress.
Happy International Women’s Day to all the phenomenal women of Trinidad and Tobago and may we continue to inspire, empower, and advocate for a more inclusive and equitable world for all.
Thank you.
