Well known Indian Guyanese community advocate, volunteer, and businessman Vishnu Mahadeo of Queens and his charming daughter Anila, a scholarship winner and scholar, hosted a puja at the Shri Lakshmi Narayan Mandir on Liberty Ave in Richmond Hill. It was a unique spiritual experiences to have the participation of 3 generations — Vishnu’s father and daughter joined in worship. Lakshmi Narayan Mandir was one of the earliest mandirs constructed in America. Vishnu Mahadeo has been trying to cement business and trade ties between Guyana and the diaspora in the USA, importing goods from Guyana. He has been sending multiple containers and barrels of first aid supplies (anti Covid related relief) and books to Guyana.
