Toneau was my long ago friend who was bulging with Hulk-like muscles and I was the epitome of skin and bone frailty but which nonetheless didn’t deter me from challenging him for some mano-a-mano action to which he would jokingly, histrionically, swat his shoulder as if being pestered by a mosquito.
Toneau’s vaudevillian melodrama came back to me (but this time the characters are reversed) when I came across an attack on me (not my article about Kamla’s delusion) by some intellectual animalculum by the name of Ramdath Jagessar who thinks in the infantile, kindergarten rabidness of his sycophancy, Kamla is beyond reproach and correction and that her continued appointment and reappointment of Wade Mark to the Senate must not be challenged, that it is tactically the right thing to do even though just today he has been found out to be misleading the country with fake info and was asked to apologise.
Based on that logic alone, I should ignore this as the ranting of some publicity-seeking, IQ challenged moron whose brain has become frozen from his long years of having to cope with the Canadian winter and the loneliness of being there and who thought when he migrated he would have become the Rishi Sunak of Canada but after long years he just remained another unrecognized and unrecognizable failed immigrant who cannot leave out of shame and who cannot come back here as he is essentially a much despised persona non grata in a country where all he does in his last days is find persons to attack in his estimation that it makes him somebody.
His zombie like presence is explained from the existence of a list of notable Trini-Canadians which I came across and which comprised dozens of local names such as golfer Stephen Ames, writer Neil Bissondath, athlete Andre De Grasse, Calypsonian Rudder, broadcaster Ian Hanomansingh, writer Shani Mootoo, Mayor of Ontario Bernadette Clement, MPP Bas Balkissoon, Councilor Ceta Ramkhalawansingh etc. etc. – all formerly of this country but seek and seek as I sought, nowhere, nowhere, among those achievers appeared the name – even in Italics and in footnote, Ramdath Jagessar. The fact that this fellow is like a shadow in Canada most likely explains why his focus is on Trinidadians.
But we must pity a pathetic loser like this who although is supposedly still alive is really more dead than alive, and deserves our sendoff now because his passing will eventually go unheralded, anonymously, as the vagrants of the world. RIP Loser!
