Before the advent of WASA, there was the Central Water Distribution Authority (CWDA), where anyone could stop and get a mouthful of water to take a Phensic or Cafenol for headache, but since the advent of WASA this service has changed.
With the advent of WASA, water service has changed to the worst. Imagine in the heart of the rainy season, we are called upon to expect water rationing, what a shame.
This government has not constructed any water dams, except the Chickland-Arena one which has now become a sacred cow.
It is a national shame and disgrace in any country, where the citizenry cannot get a regular supply of water for its citizens, and under such circumstances is not fit to rule.
The talk of the Mamoral Dam filtered in the air, and it has suddenly withered away. There are no major water projects on the government’s pathway. Our ears are filled with promises that new water wells will be drilled. But where, and when?.
The citizens of Trinidad and Tobago are totally fed with the service provided by WASA, and by extension the Minister of Public Utilities. He keeps pumping promises, which they not ever materialize.
In this day and age when we send men into outer space, I am show when they look down, they feel shame, worried and hopeless, thinking if they would get a glass of water when they return to earth.
Thousands of dollars have been spent on WASA, but all to no avail.
This is a national tragedy, and if V.S. Naipaul was still around he would have had copy for a novel.
WASA is no longer capable to supply water to the nation. There are burst water mains anywhere you turn, and WASA officials turn a blind eye.
Government should take a look at the Caura Dam, despite Dr Eric Williams caused scorn on it. If he was still around, what would he have said about the state of mismanagement and corruption all around. the lack of water and crime are national issues. But they are not taken seriously.
God please help us to get good governance now.
