Lately, Black racists and have been drumming up the noise, about Apartheid in Guyana, in their never ending attacks on the PPP and Indians in general. The flavor of the past few weeks have been that Apartheid exist in Guyana..how true, and why it takes Black activists to expose this ?. Where are the Indian Politicians and intellectuals ?. Let’s look at the evidence.

Indians are the clear majority..yet one of the most powerful institutions GECOM is 90% Black. The Army/Police are almost the same..90% Black in a country where they constitute 31% of the population. The Civil Service is overwhelming Afros. Given the power of these institutions, why are Indians kept out of them?

During the PNC racist dictatorship…Indians were openly relegated to second class citizenship…their votes in the 1973, 1979, 1980 and 1985 election were thrown in canals, scarced food items were denied to them, jobs were given to those who can show the PNC card. But with all that Indians still survived and didn’t even put up a resistance…even when the PNC start terrorizing Indians, they choose to migrate rather than fight…Where was the Indian supported PPP ? they were more concern with “Apartheid” in South Africa while enabling one in Guyana against their own supporters.

Even after returning to Office in 1992..the PPP continue the PNC’s Apartheid policies against Indians. In 1997, they set up a Billion dollar program to empower Afro Guyanese…none for Indians who were discriminated against, they set up Commission into election rigging because Afros wanted it..none for the prior election rigging. They set up a Commission into death squad..none for PNC death squad that terrorized Indians during their rule. To date no one was apprehended in the Mon Repos anti-Indian riots, the 2020 anti-Indian riots, the 1997-2002 anti Indian attacks This is a blatant discrimination and a double standard…a clear violation of the Consitution and international laws.

When will the appeasing Indian politicians and Indian intellectuals speak out against Apartheid in Guyana ?.
