The (Ag) Police Commissioner, Mc Donald Jacob, said, “the public has no need to panic over the possibility of any uprising in the country.” He was responding to the Jamaat-al- Muslimeen leader Imam Yasin Abu Bakr broadcast from the mosque in Port of Spain on Friday 10th September 2021 and carried live on Facebook.
The Imam highlighted issues he viewed as “oppression to the people of Afro-Trinidadian descent.” He “warned” the government /state and especially the Minister of Education, Dr. Gadsby-Dolly. He is critical of the concordat and the denominational schools “getting all the money” …Dr. Rowley “giving all the money for the Indian children.”
He added that “all the children topping the class is Indian. What the a…all doing black man? African children deserve their just due and he was no longer going to allow this injustice…Rowley as a black man and leader of the country had an obligation to look after the black children.”
Imam Abu Bakr echoes the 23 prominent persons on January 24th/25th 2020. They issued a statement “The education of children of African origin.” The 23 persons had ignored the majority of the children. Now Abu Bakr has identified Indians- “all the children topping the class are Indian.” The state must intervene for African children.
Also, Theodore Lewis listed the 23 persons in an article “Constitutional rights of black children” in June 2021, wrote that “black children are on the outside of the system…It is a kind of apartheid.” Are Indians responsible for that?
Indians are now a scapegoat of the education children for African children in the country.
