Based on nothing more than then Opposition Leader Keith Rowley’s spurious allegations and a fistful of what turned out to be fake documents, the police seized the communication devices of the senior members of the then government, but for what is becoming clearer with each passing day as depraved indifference to human life that led to the deaths of four divers, the police has not so much as given now Prime Minister Rowley’s golfing buddies and appointees a rub down.
As a taxpayer I am incensed, and no longer prepared to sit in silence and accept the PNMising of state institutions and organizations.
McDonald Jacob MUST explain his failure to investigate the critical communications that took place over that fateful weekend that could shed light on what exactly happened and who might be to blame. Both cell phone providers hold back ups that could be accessed via simple court order. Why has this not yet been done?
The Acring Commissioner risks becoming an obstacle to justice if not an accomplice after the fact by failing to investigate. I am concerned that we do not have one civic minded attorney who could approach the courts for an order to compel the Mr. Jacob to do his job or resign.
Perhaps it is time to bring in international investigators to investigate all of it, including the Prime Minister, the line minister, the board and every person they contacted over those seventy two hours.
Failure to demand a proper investigation is to add the names of these divers to Gene Miles, Selwyn Richardson, Dana Seetahal and others believed to have been killed either by the direct action or inaction of the government.
We cannot continue to pretend to be a real nation ruled by law and then glaringly frustrate the rule of law.
The citizenry have to prepare to stand up for justice.
