Whether you like Gary Griffith or not, the man was performing as Police Commissioner. Rowley’s assertion that he lost confidence in Griffith while standing mum as Jacob presides over the worst spate of glaring killings in the country’s history makes a lie of his words and exposes what clearly was a personal agenda.
The family of every person murdered should sue the state directly and Rowley personally for foisting a man clearly drowning in the job to replace a man who revelled in each challenge.
His arrogance as some put it was well deserved when one considers the grip he had on crime.
Yes it’s easy to find fault and there were things that could have been done better, but where are those fault finders now as the nation is under siege?
Even the allegations that under Gary some were getting legal firearms too easily is being rubbished as many are hoping and praying to be counted so lucky so as to have even a shooting chance at survival.
Gary Griffith deserves to be Commissioner more than Keith Rowley deserves to be Prime Minister, and we should all be prepared to march incessantly to make that a reality to provide some manner of safety to a tired and worried citizenry.
Keith Rowley has failed this country and put lives at risk over personality squabbles and his own hubris. The nation should never forgive him nor should they forgive any in his party who stand in silent conspiracy while the people mourn the murderous body count.
Blaming the system is poppycock. Asking for patience is nonsense when we weren’t prepared to be patient under Griffith’s tenure.
We need to fire this government for failing to act when needed most and when a clear and better option for Commissioner is available.
At the very least Jacob should be fired today, and should be made to take that other hapless, clueless double tongued apologist for incompetence and failure Fitzgerald Hinds with him.
