Stabroek News (Guyana) reported March 27 that Kahina Haynes, daughter of Guyanese banker Floyd Haynes, has been appointed by President Joe Biden to serve on the US President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, & Nutrition. Ms. Haynes is Executive Director of the Dance Institute of Washington where she makes her home. She is one of 27 appointees on the Council which is an advisory body.
Her father, Floyd, is a business professor and accountant. He obtained a license last year to open a Merchant Bank in Guyana.
Congratulations to the young lady on this historic appointment for a Guyanese (female).
