India Minister of Petroleum Hardip Singh Puri discussed areas of cooperation in the energy sector in a bilateral meeting with Hon. Vickram Bharrat, Minister for Natural Resources, Guyana on the sidelines of #ADIPEC2022 in Abu Dhabi over the weekend.
Minister Puri, who served in several Ministries, is well known to Guyanese in New York. He served several years as India’s Ambassador to the United Nations when the BJP captured political power in May 2014. Ambassador Puri engaged Guyanese at many social and religious functions during his diplomatic stint in NYC. He was most impressed with the cultural retention of Indian Caribbean people. He was a diplomat par excellence and was well respected by Indian Caribbeans.
Minister Puri told Minister Bharrat said Indian companies will assist the Guyanese in training engineers for upstream & downstream sectors so that they can maximise production from their landmark discoveries.
He noted that 40% population of Guyana is of Indian origin & Indian companies will assist the Guyanese in training engineers for upstream & downstream sectors so that they can maximise production from their landmark discoveries.
