New Immigrant Voters Group Launched in NY

A new group dedicated to promoting voting and increasing voter turnout among immigrants who are American citizens was launched on Sunday April 2 at a function in Richmond Hill, Queens. Several Indian Caribbeans were present at the launch. The group will encourage residents to become citizens and register them to vote.

The organization was conceived and founded by community advocate Dilip Nath, who is a migrant from Bangladesh. Nath is head of the organization. Present at the event was several prominent elected politicians including John Liu, Melinda Katz, and several others. They are all Democrats.
