PEP and By Election in Penal

By Philip Alexander

The UNC complains that the PNM starves them for funds so they cannot serve you but want you to elect them anyway.

How does that make sense?

The PEP says cheap politics won’t get in the way of your funding, your representation or getting your issues addressed, and that we will compel the central government to provide you with all you deserve.

The people of Debe South, like all people of ALL communities are ENTITLED to service and to equal treatment under the law.

All through the country they are saying Phillip will fix it, and while that is true, i am part of a greater organization of equally committed and capable people and you can feel confident in saying PEP will fix it.

We in the PEP will ensure that not only do you get the funding you are entitled to by law, but that it would be used to clean your drains so they do not encourage pests in stagnant pools of ooze, and build sidewalks over them so your children do not have to walk in the streets.

We will clear abandoned and overgrown empty lots so that vermin do not breed and bring disease into your homes.

We will identify areas for water catchment and work with central government to direct waters that perennially flood your streets and homes into those holding facilities, and work with WASA to provide treatment management of that water to provide you with an increased source of clean drinking water in both rainy and dry seasons.

We will publish road maintenance schedules and ensure that they are adhered to.

We will work with the other councilors to guarantee that at least THIS Regional Corporation works as intended, that your service needs are met, and your voices heard.

Give us a chance to prove that there is so much more to governance than bachannal and noise.

The Progressive Empowerment Party has a point to make, that while voting has consequences, it can also have benefits, and that we could have a first world, developed nation if we wanted it.

That we could vote ourselves a better country where delivery of basic goods and services are concerned at the local government level, and that hope and opportunity for a good life and to maximize their potential at a national level should be available to ALL citizens of this country regardless of race, colour, creed or class.

The PNM and UNC would have you believe in identity politics, that how you vote should be affected by race and religion, but no amount of ‘get in yuh section’ voting has ever resulted in proper representation on the ground, for you and your loved ones, where it matters most.

Government is about SERVICE.

The social contract is a simple one. You vote people into office whose job it is to make your lives better.

Help us help you.

We invite you to dare to dream again, to hope and believe again, and to vote to make that dream a reality.

On Monday February 7th we ask you to go out in your numbers to vote the PEP candidate Lorenzo Sammy into Office, and put the Orange Army to work for you.
