As much of a good guy and accomplished attorney that he might be, Reggie Armour should have thought twice and twice more again before joining that sinking ship. After a lifetime of upward trajectory the best he could hope for from this association is political notoriety. It certainly cannot do anything positive for his reputation nor was it worth giving up his citizenship to Dominica which he is required to do to enter the senate.
The front page news picture of him standing next to Rowley did nothing to raise Rowley’s stocks (which he assuredly hoped it would) but significantly lowered Armour’s. As the old people say, you cannot lie down with dogs and not get fleas.
Whatever the reason for the humiliation of Faris in the demotion to a non cabinet position, for all his legendary incompetence he cannot be considered the worst of the equals that is that failed and falling government and, truth be told, he at least elevated them out of the neanderthal ooze of Imbert, Young, Sinanan, Deyalsingh and Hinds.
This PNM party is not the party of Williams or even Manning. This is straight up thuggery and hate broadcast from the Parliament’s pulpit bought and paid for by political investors and organized white collar crime. It is a gathering of common conmen, incompetent charlatans, and a metastasizing of the culture of corruption that has been the hallmark of government of this country for all of our almost sixty years.
What Reggie Armour thinks he can do to reverse that or gain from it is anybody’s guess, but at some point he will have to face the fact that he is now part of the government that gutted the Procurement Act to legitimize if not facilitate government corruption, graft and sleaze.
To add Attorney General to an already accomplished resume is not worth any of that.
