Screening: Kamla’s death wish

Just ask yourself geriatric sycophants and promiscuous hedonists, has Kamla offered you as a candidate in the last two elections somebody who energised and animated you with the excitement of triumphalism that you had a sure winner in that person?

In 1986 I am standing next to an NAR heavyweight who exclaims: “now I know we have won,” when he heard the next name announced as one of the party’s candidate. You see name matters in the political equation and putting up a star-studded team gives you an edge when you have two parties deadlocked in what they have to offer. This equation is based on the ethnic similarities of the two parties involved so where is the deal breaking element?

Both parties have sought and attracted deadbeat supporters notwithstanding the fact that it is a society blessed with an intelligentsia that even affluent Singapore would have grabbed up to further its transcendence.

Kamla has not done that, picked the best and brightest brains available, the most charismatic personalities simply because she lacks the sense of grandeur that enables one to recognise greatness. Show me your friends and I’ll tell you who you are is classically reflected in what Kamla sees in her blue-eyed boys and girls – in Padarath, in Wade Mark etc.

When I was challenging her choices in 2000, one sycophant argued with me that whatever the leader picks we should just accept as if she was the custodian of our collective wisdom ignoring that Kamla has an intellectual fault line of seismic proportion; that in taking Rowley to Mandela’s funeral, she was technically grooming him as her successor- not a UNC person out of the crabs in the barrel that exist. As a matter of fact, she might have taken Reshmi Ramnarine as her understudy to South Africa instead of Rowley, but Kamla makes scatterbrained, half mad, sloppy, IQ-challenged choices as if she really got her education not at Cave Hill but in just some primordial Cave in Mendez Village.

Point I am making: all the wrongdoings of the PNM are going to be cancelled out by Kamla’s deadbeat choices of candidates just as in the two previous elections. So many charismatic, intellectual heavyweights to choose from but see what kind of nonentities, what losers, she’ll excavate from her dumping, stomping, ground. All these press conferences of the UNC, all pronouncements are monotonous repetition of what took place in 2020 just to make you think that victory is at hand when it is all an exercise in futility as Kamla readies herself for the position of leader of the opposition and whatever else she says is in the knowledge that big, grown, supposedly educated geriatric men are swallowing like dessert. Shame on you fellas as you prove the cliché, educated jackasses made Haiti, Somalia what they are for just a little Senatorship, a mess of pottage, and the pathetic glimpse of a dried up inner thigh.

Prove us wrong, Kamla: Come up with at least one name, one candidate we could say was well analysed and thought about and who could rejig the image of the party from where you have it.
