The Dongkay Dam Society of Trinidad

This is it, you know, this is the society that doesn’t care a damn about anything and is prepared to let things be.

We are lucky to be living in an era when, thanks to Mark Zuckerberg, we could express our thoughts and have them splashed out there for public consumption, debate; but instead of Facebook subscribers seeing this as a golden opportunity to have their voices heard, they prefer to comment on who is looking pretty, whose dog is so loving that it kisses you and your child in the mouth just after it licks its own butt and such unhygienic, primordial things.

We have issues here that need to be confronted head on – issues like the removal of jury service as part of our jurisprudence and which is something that should be voted on in a referendum and not left to “Cabinet” to decide upon.

We have the momentous issue of the “Property Tax” looming and which should be voted for or against by the citizens and not be left to the bagmen of the treasury who are lying in wait as bandits for it to be implemented and for them to loot as train robbers of the wild west and which is ignored by the Facebook photo-shoppers who can’t find the time to bother themselves as they concentrate with the airbrushing of their latest photo trying to look better than Aishwariya Rai.

Vinda Ramsingh, myself and a few others, examine these topics and try to bring them in the simplest way for readers who it is expected might make a valid critique or elaboration on our point and let the country know that we are not one or two voices in the wilderness but we are an entire country involved in what’s happening. One understands that this is not a country of readers and so trying to exhume commentators is wishful thinking. What good is it to us to quote some medieval writer or the bible when we are plagued with our own current issues?

But I say woe onto you who choose to say silent when you are presented with thoughts that will affect your life and you refused to let your voices be heard because evil thrives when good people stay silent and all you look out for is who looking good and pretty whose birthday it is and while the bad and ugly policies are coming for our rass.
