Two City Council Members Visit Tulsi Mandir 

Two NY City Councilwomen visited Shri Tulsi Mandir Sunday morning Feb 26 to engage the spiritual leader Pt Lakhram Maharaj. The members came to deliver good news that the street at the intersection of 111 and Liberty Ave will be co-named as Tulsi Mandir Way. The two distinguished visitors were Joann Ariola and Lynne Schulman.

Joann Ariola is a councilwoman of the New York City Council, representing District 32 which includes Woodhaven, Richmond Hill, Ozone Park, Howard Beach, Broad Channel, and the western half of the Rockaway Peninsula.

Lynn Schulman grew up in Forest Hills and is a long-time community and LGBTQ activist. An attorney by training, Lynn has devoted her career to public service and held a broad range of executive positions in government, private industry, and the non-profit arena. The area she represents includes: all or parts of the Queens neighborhoods of Forest Hills, Rego Park, Kew Gardens, and Richmond Hill. Her term began on January 1, 2022.
