Dear Editor,
One of the most common refrain by those who have been vanquished in political battles is to declare that the fight will continue for their moral principles. THE US ELECTION IS OVER. It’s now water under the bridge. Trump won in a landslide. I hesitate to say this but I TOLD YOU SO !!! Those suffering from Trump derangement syndrome, should just suck it up and accept it. Trump has been vindicated. His political skills are unmatched. The people have spoken loudly and clearly that they don’t believe any of the vicious lies and are totally against the smear campaign against him.
Still there are some who refused to accept reality. Some are twisting themselves like pretzels to justify their incessant hatred for Trump. They are entitled to their own hateful opinions but not to their own facts.
One common quality of most learned persons is humility. But some are very condescending. Labeling people who have different political views as naive and “unschooled” is beyond the pale. There are countless people who are more dignified, more morally upright and more successful in life than those who think of themselves as “schooled”.
Instead of a serious introspection and acknowledge that it was a mistake to support policies that are antithetical to the interests of most people, some have doubled down on their discredited positions.
Finally, it is very unfortunate that some have invoked the principles of dharma in a futile attempt to justify their actions. We have been lectured ad nauseam about dharma by some while they support those who advocate for policies that are against the very principles of dharma. Double standard or hypocrisy?
Sivdat.
