A group of Indo-Caribbean American tourists were felicitated and serenaded at BHU on November 7 at the launching of a book written by Hemraj Ramdath on Indians in business in Trinidad. The book is titled From Indentureship to Entrepreneurship. His Excellency Dr Roger Rajesh Gopaul, High Commissioner of Trinidad and Tobago to India, delivered the feature address. Ramdath delivered remarks in the book. Also speaking about the book was Deepti Aggarwal of Delhi University. This is the first time that a book on Indo-Caribbeans was launched at BHU. It is also the first time that a group of Indian Caribbean tourists was hosted at BHU.
The program was planned and organized by Prof Ghan Sham, chairman of the Department of History, with able support from the office of the Dean of the School of Social Sciences as well as the faculty of History.
