Trump on his election as the 47th President of the United States and to Senator JD Vance as the Vice President-elect. Their victory in the 2024 US presidential elections marks a significant moment in American political history. Trump was projected by AP to win at least 277 votes in the Electoral College. The final piece of the electoral math for him came with the call of Wisconsin and its 10 electoral votes for the 45th — and soon, 47th — president. Trump, who will be 78 at his swearing-in, now becomes the first person since President Grover Cleveland to win the presidency for two nonconsecutive terms. As President-elect Trump prepares to return to the White House, and Senator Vance readies himself for his new role as Vice President, the IDC acknowledges the importance of this transition for both the United States and the global community.
