I read with interest the release made by the Anjuman Sunnat ul Jamaat Associated Inc. (ASJA) dated 1 st July, 2025 expressing reservation on the visit of Prime Minister Modi of India to Trinidad and Tobago.

ASJA used the term “extensive and credible international concerns about his administration treatment of Muslim minorities.” Is there a country the world where a Muslim minority does not have a problem with the majority? The Muslims in India are more than 200m and yet they continue to refer to themselves as a minority, and worse, they are the only minority that has a problem, not the Sikhs, the Buddhists, the Jains, the Christians, etc.

As for the Gujurat riots of 2002, the Muslims provoked the riots by setting ablaze an apartment in a train with pilgrims returning after visiting the Ram Jamabhoomi where they had gone to carry out service for the reconstruction of the Ram Mandir. ASJA and all Muslims conveniently forget this provocation. They hold the view that the Hindus should just lie down and allow the Muslims to trample them.

Of interest to ASJA is that the Supreme court of India investigated the Gujarat riot and there was no evidence of Modi’s complicity. Despite this, Muslims continue to ignore this reality and continue to pin the blame on Modi.

As for the Citizenship Amendment Act this was yet again most misleading. This Act was aimed at giving citizenship to the persecuted minorities- Hindu, Buddhists, Sikhs, Christians- in the Islamic states of Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan. As for Muslims who wanted citizenship in India, the normal channel is open the them. But Muslim leaders of India fell victims to George Soros’s money which was given by USAID to stir social upheavals in India.

Why must a single Muslim-majority state in India have special status? Is that justice? In any civilized society there must be one law for all. By removing this special status allowed to Kasmir, all Kashmiris were now equal under the Constitution of India. With this special status, minorities such as the Dalits had no rights. An educated Dalit with a doctorate was only get a job as a janitor until he/she converts to Islam! Also, Kashmiri women who married outside of Kashmir were denied inheritance rights.

One must not forget the genocide of the Kashmiri Pandits who had to flee Kashmir, the home of their ancestors, for their safety and live as refugees in India. More so, whenever the call for justice for the Kashmiri Pandits was raised, it was met with resistance by Muslims, citing that it would lead to communal riots. Is ASJA saying that wrongs perpetrated by Muslims must not be addressed?

The Babri Masjid got its name from Babur who looted and destroyed the Ram Mandir. The restoration of the Ram Mandir is a statement by Modi that historical injustices must be corrected. One must note that the reclaiming of the Ram Mandir was done after a long legal procedure that ruled in favor of the reconstruction of the Ram Mandir. ASJA failed to inform its readers that the Muslim community was granted acres of lands and money for the construction of a mosque. Unfortunately, this is not spoken about by the protectors of Islam and the rights of Muslims. As for anti-Muslim violence I would like ASJA to provide one incident of Hindu aggression against Muslims. However, in every state where Muslims have the protection of the state government, the Muslim majority in a district has aggressed against the Hindu minority. This was recently witnessed in West Bengal where a Muslim mob directed by politicians affiliated with the ruling party, vandalized Hindu homes and properties with families fleeing their homes. This atrocities of Muslims against their minority non-Muslim neighbors prompted CM Yogi Adityanath to remark that one Muslim is safe among a Hindu majority but not the reverse. In fact, this has been the history of Islam in India- aggression, rape, murder and conversion of Hindus. Will Durant, an American historian, has estimated that more than 80 million Hindus were slaughtered by Muslim invaders and tens of millions of Hindu women and girls sold as slaves in central and western Asia.

And yes, Muslims are infiltrators. Bangladeshis and Pakistanis who are illegal immigrants in India should be rounded up and returned to their respective countries. After all, both Bangladesh and Pakistan are prosperous nations being governed by Islamic laws! Why would Muslims want to leave Pakistan and Bangladesh to live in India? ASJA should be able to answer this question. And this brings me to the question of Waqf properties and the Waqf Amendment Act of 2025. It is quite clear that Muslims in India want to perpetuate privilege, not equality before the law. The Act aimed at enhancing transparency, accountability and efficiency in the handling of Waqf properties.

The Waqf Act of 1995 made the Waqf a law unto itself. The 2025 amendment increases the government in managing the Waqf assets and resolving disputes including the inclusion of non-Muslims in the Waqf Board.

The WAQF is a statutory body like WASA in Trinidad. There are laws governing WASA including the appointment of a board. What if the laws state that only Muslims must be members of the WASA Board? Or, that WASA can confiscate properties with the aggrieved victim to plead his case before a tribunal set up by WASA, with the High Court not having any say. That was the WAQF Act of 1995 and it is this injustice against the people of India that Modi is protecting by passing the Waqf Amendment Act of 2025.

ASJA should have included in its press release the many noble work that the WAQF Board is doing to reach out to the mass of Muslims living in poverty in India. Is it true that that the Muslims in India have only one university- the Aligarh Muslims University? What are some of

the social services that Islamic NGOs are offering the Muslim masses apart from Quranic schools where students are confined to reciting the Quran?

The Islamic leaders in the subcontinent are guilty of keeping their Muslim brothers and sisters in the medieval age, to unleash them in riots against their Hindu neighbors, blocking roads for a hundred rupees per day as was done in Shaheen Bagh or the shooting with sling shots at Indian soldiers in Kashmir for a chit to take to a shop keeper to receive 50 rupees. Is this the culture that ASJA is advocating for their Muslim brothers and sisters in India? Muslims in India are awakening to the reality that they have a bright future under Modi and how? By just looking at the mess in neighboring Pakistan and Bangladesh!
